(Day 1)

Stan couldn't look away from the mysterious blonde.

There was something about the guy that ignited a flame of life in Stan. It might've been the way he hyper-focused on his job, or maybe it was the way he moved with the music blaring on Craig's speaker.

Whatever it was about him - Stan couldn't stop staring.

It wasn't normal for him to think things like this about someone. This was a new feeling, a different feeling, that made him feel sick, yet exhilarated all at once. Nothing else existed around him as he took in the new stranger's presence.

Simply, it was astonishing.

His chest started to tighten, and his hands began to shake; Stan grabbed the counter behind him as his mouth went dry. And somehow, through his consistent staring, the guy hadn't looked up once.

Luckily, it was the end of the night when Stan noticed there was a new guy on the line - it had been too busy for him to register someone new earlier - and now, he couldn't manage to leave. He didn't want to until he was done, too. Something told him he needed to talk to him. Typically, Stan wasn't the type of guy to be forward with someone immediately, yet, something told him to try.

He just had to talk to him.

Where Stan stood in the corner, by the POS, he had a perfect view of the line. The blonde was training on the grill side, and seemed like he knew what he was doing already from the way he caught onto the groove of the other guys.

Then, just like that, Tolkien was telling the new guy it was the end of his shift, and he could leave. Stan was disappointed. Even though he'd stayed there for longer than needed just to drool over some dude, Stan had to at least see him walk by.

Still, the blonde hadn't noticed him staring as he gathered his things from the back. Stan felt a pang of sadness when he finally walked past, faster than anticipated, disappearing behind the wall before he could breathe.

But, he came back, peering his head around the corner to look straight at Stan with intimidating blue eyes: ".. Uh, your gum smells good."

Stan forgot he was even chewing gum. "Thanks.." He answered in shock, immediately kicking himself as the guy nodded once, and continued leaving.

What the fuck did that mean?! Did he see me staring? Does he think I'm fucking weird? How did he even smell my gum?! Stan couldn't find answers to any of those questions. He dug his nails into the counter as the goosebumps washed over him.

Once those eyes landed on him, damnit, Stan knew he'd never be the same. It shook everything down to his core beliefs.

"Stan?" Wendy stood in front of him suddenly, snapping her fingers impatiently. "Are you malfunctioning, or something? He-l-l-l-o?"

He forgot about Wendy. His girlfriend of seven years just slipped from his mind. He couldn't fucking believe it. I forgot she existed..

The guilt formed a pit in his stomach. Stan shook away the feelings, putting an arm around Wendy instead: "Y-Yeah, sorry, babe. It was a long one. How was your night?"
