Raghav's pov

A few years ago◽◽◽◽◽◽◽◽◽◽

I and Tarun were going to a meeting in Shimla. As much as I hated his presence, mom wanted me to try spending some time with him, time I desperately didn't want to spend. I was trying to observe his every action and see if there was any motive behind them.

My phone rang with our business partner's name displaying. I parked the car to the side of the ghat and got down to pick the phone

Third person pov

As Raghav got down from the car, Tarun immediately got his plan into action. He knew that Dhruv's car was coming ahead. He opened the car's engine and pulled out the breaks.

He quickly went and sat inside the car before Raghav could come. Raghav came with his phone and gave Tarun a suspicious look. He assumed that Tarun hadn't moved from his seat and got into the driver's seat.. But oh was he wrong.

As Dhruv's car descended from the ghat, Raghav tried to put a break or move the other side, however Tarun immediately shifted the gear the wrong way and before Raghav could do anything, there was a crash.

Raghav's pov

Remembering the horrible event was bad enough, but what made it worse is that the person I had killed was Aishani's father.

I looked at my love who was staring at Tarun with doe like wide eyes. She then looked at me and searched for answers in my eyes. I really wanted to tell her that I didn't do it, I didn't kill Dhruv.. But I couldn't even bring myself to believe that.

I had killed Dhruv, all because of my irresponsibility and now my Aishani has to suffer with the absence of a father.

On finding that Tarun wasn't lying, she looked at me questioningly.. But her eyes still seemed to be in disbelief.. She didn't want to believe that I had done such a thing.. But it was the truth.

"Raghav? Raghav.. What is he saying?Tell me! It's not true.. Obviously it isn't! Right?" She asked in a soft voice, her eyes pleading me

"I'm sorry Aishani, I didn't—" Before I could advance further she put her hands in front of herself, stopping me

"No! Why would you.. Do such a thing? Raghav?! Was all this care you've been showing me.. Just sympathy? Guilt? Regret?!" she asked hysterically.

"No.. Aishani please listen lo—" I tried to stop her but she was gone too far. She was falling down a hole in her own mind.. Something she did quite often. I tried to get near her and shake her out of it, but she just ran near the door.

"My brother was right! I shouldn't ever have come to you!" she said pulling the door open and running outside. I went behind her but was stopped by my phone

"Hello Sir, your mother just had a seizure. We're taking her to the hospital right now" My mother's nurse said

"Raghav.. You can go after Aishani later. First go to the hospital. Come" my father said dragging me out and as much as I wanted to follow Aishani, it was a difficult situation. I had to go to mom.

Aishani's pov

He didn't even follow me.. He just let me run. I could see the guilt in his eyes, the regret he had. But what's the use? Dad's gone.. And all because of him

All because of the man I thought I loved, no still love..

My eyes teared up at the fact that I had come to trust such a horrible person. I had trust issues.. Too many to count and yet.. It was all broken now.

This is why it was better to not trust anyone
