"Lu, are you finished? Are you full? How was it? Was it okay?"I'm throwing questions at Lu like I'm throwing the kids' dirty laundry into their basket. I'm just feeling nervous since the other day he said my cooking was salty. I've never once heard that about my cooking. It really threw me off.
Lu sat there, feeling weirded out. "No need to ask so many questions," he starts. "It was fine. You did a... good job..."
"Thanks! Oh, and sorry. Last time you said my cooking was salty so I wanted this time to be perfect for your tastebuds," I explained.
Lu chuckled awkwardly. "Oh, that was a joke. You took that seriously?"
"Yeah, you're my buddy."
"Buddy?" Lu snapped. "We're not close."
"Sorry," I apologized. "I just assumed..."
Lu flicks my forehead. "Will you stop apologizing to me? You're making it seem like I broke my promise..."
I smile.
"Okay, I'll stop."I think Lu is finally warming up to me and it already feels so great.
"Lu!"
We turned around. It was Chaeun and Winwin entering the kitchen. Well, this is great. Not awkward at all. They both look like they're going out.
How... fun.
"Chaeun!" Lu gushed, running towards her. "I haven't seen you in a while!"
Lu was smiling at her which means... she has Lu on her side as well. Man.
"Are you excited to be on summer break?" Chaeun asked, handing him candy.
"Not really..." Lu replied, grabbing the candy. "But I'll manage."
I looked at Winwin but he was so invested in Chaeun. He was smiling at her as she spoke to Lu. Winwin looks really into her which means he really does like her. I feel like such an idiot for thinking he had some leftover feelings for me when in reality he never even did from the start.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" Chaeun apologized before looking at me. "You cook too? So not only do you cook and clean but you also get the attention of the men of this family. That is just... wonderful."
Men? Does she mean Winwin and Lu? Lu is a boy. Why would she even say that?
"Chaeun," Winwin grabs her shoulder. "Let's go before the movie starts."
