Bakugo's POV

Todoroki was standing on the edge of the roof, so close to falling that the wind could push him off.

Bakugo was frozen in place. He wanted to scream at Todoroki to not jump, or to somehow restrain him, but he couldn't. He couldn't force his body to move.

Todoroki didn't seem to notice him yet, and if he did, he didn't care. He was just standing there, dangerously close to falling to his death.

And then, he moved. He started leaning over the edge very slowly, but it was still noticable.

Bakugo realized that if he didn't do something right that second, Todoroki would die.

And if he dies, it'll be your fault, a voice in Bakugo's head said.

The voice was right, Bakugo realized. Todoroki was up here because he told him to go die. It's his fault he was standing at the edge of the roof, slowly leaning into his death.

Todoroki leaned forward even more. If he was leaning even an inch more, he'd surely fall.

"STOP!" Bakugo screamed.

Todoroki's POV

He was so close. So close to finally escaping the hell known as his life. He would never have to see his father again, never have to hear Bakugo yell at him again, and it made him feel at peace, in a way.

Of course, there would be things he missed, but the bad outweighed the good so, so much. His life was more like a chore than anything, and Todoroki was done forcing himself to get up in the mornings. He was tired of trying to convince himself that tomorrow will be better.

Todoroki closed his eyes. The feeling of the cold evening air was relaxing. He breathed it in, calming his nerves. This was what he wanted, he wanted to die, so why was he so nervous?

Todoroki leaned forward with his eyes still closed. As he leaned into his death, he wondered what it would be like. Would it hurt, or would his death be instant? Would there be an afterlife, or would there be nothing afterwards. Well, there was only one way to find out.

Suddenly, before Todoroki got the chance to fall, he heard someone yell from behind him.

"STOP!"

Bakugo's POV

Todoroki quickly turned around at the sound of Bakugo's voice. At first, he looked shocked, then his expression changed to an angry one.

"What do you want, Bakugo?" He aggressive asked.

Bakugo was dumbfounded by his reaction. Was it not obvious? Why would he tell Todoroki to stop unless he wanted him to stop?

"I want you to get away from the edge!" Bakugo yelled.

"No you don't. You've made it very clear since the beginning of school that you want me to die, so don't pretend you care to make yourself feel better about me jumping." Todoroki said with anger etched in each word.

Bakugo couldn't believe what he was hearing. This was bad. If Todoroki really thought Bakugo truly didn't care, it was going to be hard to convince him to get down. Bakugo had to make him realize he cared, or he would die.

"That's not true! I'm not doing this to make myself feel better, I'm doing this because I don't want you to die, and nobody else does either!"

"You constantly tell me to die, and now you're suddenly saying you don't mean it, and you expect me to believe that you're not doing this so you feel better about yourself?"

"I'm like that with everyone! Of course I don't really want anyone to die, that's just how I am. Please, I promise I'll never say it again if you get away from the edge!" Bakugo began crying as he begged Todoroki not to throw himself off of the roof. He wanted him to walk away so badly, but he knew that there was a big chance that he would fall.

Todoroki stayed silent for a moment, and for a second, Bakugo thought he would get away from the edge.

That hope vanished when Todoroki said, "I'm sorry Bakugo, but you're not going to stop me. One person wanting me to live isn't enough to convince me. The bad outweighs the good too much."

"Then what about the others? What about Deku or the rest of the class? What about your siblings and your mom? Don't you think they want you to live?" Bakugo was sobbing at this point.

Todoroki remained silent. He looked like he was deep in thought, considering what Bakugo had just said. Bakugo knew that Todoroki cared about his mother a lot. If she wasn't enough to stop Todoroki, nothing would be.

"I'm sorry, Bakugo" Todoroki then turned around, facing his death once again.

Bakugo's legs gave out and he fell to the floor. He put his head to the ground and closed his eyes as he sobbed. He failed. Bakugo failed at convincing Todoroki not to jump. Todoroki was going to die, and it was his fault. He was going to have to be the one to tell everyone how he fucked up.

Then, he felt a hand on his shoulder. His head shot up. His red eyes were met with multi-colored ones.

It took Bakugo a second to process what he was looking at. When he realized Todoroki hadn't killed himself, he couldn't help but smile. Bakugo hugged him, holding him tightly to his chest.

Todoroki slowly moved his arms around Bakugo, as if he wasn't sure he should.

"D-dammit. Don't ever do that again, Half 'N Half. I was s-so damn worried." Bakugo yelled as he calmed down. He was still crying, but not as hard as before.

Those words must've hit Todoroki hard, making him realize that Bakugo really did care. He started crying. Those cries got harder by the second, until he was sobbing loudly. Todoroki squeezed Bakugo.

"I'm s-sorry. I-I don't know what I w-was thinking. I'm so-sorry." Todoroki said in between sobs. He kept quietly apologizing to Bakugo. So quiet it could hardly he heard.

The cries eventually stopped. Todoroki's breathing slowed down. His adrenaline had apparently run out because he was asleep.

Bakugo lifted Todoroki up, carrying him bridal style. He softly layed his bag on Todoroki's stomach so it was easier to carry them both.

As he carried Todoroki to Bakugo's dorm, he made a promise to himself. He swore that he would be nicer to Todoroki from then on and try to be the friend he needed.
