Bakugo's POV
It was lunchtime, and Bakugo was eating on the roof with Kirishima. He would've preferred eating alone than eating with anyone, but at least it was the only person in the class Bakugo didn't really mind being around. Sure, Kirishima could get annoying sometimes, but he was still the only person in the class Bakugo considered an equal, though he'd never admit that.
"Yo, Bakubro, it's nice up here, isn't it? We should eat up here more often." Kirishima said with an annoying amount of enthusiasm.
"Yeah, whatever." Bakugo said, not really giving Kirishima an answer.
"No, really! We should come up here again tomorrow, and we should invite the others too." Kirishima said excitedly.
"Hell no. I'm not going to have a school-lunch party with you and the other idiots." Bakugo agreed to coming up there with Kirishima to get away from the others. It'd defeat the point if the others came up there to join them.
"But I-" Kirishima started, but was interupted by the bell, telling them that it was time to go to class.
The boys hurried back into the building to get to class. Bakugo attempted to mentally prepare himself for dealing with his classmates as we made his way to the class
Just as everyone sat down, Aizawa walked into the classroom.
"We're doing a group project today. I want everyone and their partner to research a pro hero and write an essay about them." Aizawa tiredly said.
The class erupted in cheers, happy that they would get to work with a partner.
"I don't want anyone goofing off, so I'll be assigning who you'll work with."
The cheers turned into boos as soon as Aizawa said that last part. The students were all silently praying that they wouldn't get stuck with Mineta, except for Bakugo, who would much rather be with Mineta than Deku or Icyhot.
"Yuga and Tokoyami, Mina and Tsuyu, Iida and Momo, Uraraka and Midoriya, Orjiro and Hagukure, Kaminari and Kirishima, Koda and Sato, Todoroki and Bakugo, Soji and Mineta, and Jiro and Sero. Now get to work." Aizawa said, yawning after announcing the partners.
Aizawa did that on purpose, Bakugo was sure he did. If Aizawa's goal was to piss off Bakugo, he succeeded. Bakugo and Todoroki hadn't even spoken yet and he was already annoyed.
Bakugo could feel himself getting more annoyed as Icyhot walked near his desk at a painfully slow pace. Todoroki pulled a chair up to the desk.
After at least a minute of uncomfortable silence, Todoroki said, "Who are we going to do our essay on?"
Bakugo didn't have to think long to decide. Obviously, they'd be doing the essay on All Might. So what if it'd be easier to do an essay on Endeavor, considering he was Todoroki's father? Endeavor wasn't nearly as good as All Might, and if Bakugo was going to do an essay on a hero, it was going to be about the best hero to exist.
"Well, obvio-" Bakugo started, before being interupted by none other than that Half 'N Half Bastard.
"All Might, right?" Todoroki asked.
Bakugo was already annoyed, and Todoroki interupting him as he was answering his question only put him in a worse mood.
"Don't fucking interupt me Halfie!" Bakugo yelled at him.
"But that's what you were going to say, wasn't it?"
"Yeah, but that doesn't change anything! Don't speak when I'm speaking!"
Todoroki didn't seem to care in the slightest and reached into his bag. In fact, he seemed to be ignoring Bakugo on purpose. This pissed Bakugo off even more.
"Don't ignore me Halfie!" He yelled. Todoroki continued to pay no attention to Bakugo.
The two of them spent the entire class bickering. By the time the period ended, they had made no progress on their essay.
When the bell rang, Todoroki decided to state the obvious and said, "We made no progress on the hero essay."
"Well, it's your damn fault!" Bakugo said accusingly, raising his voice a little.
"It wasn't just my fault. We would've made plenty of progress if you didn't get pissed about the smallest things." Todoroki harshly replied.
Bakugo's blood was boiling from rage. Every word that came from Halfie's mouth made Bakugo want to throw the bastard out of a window.
"Just go die already Half 'N Half Bastard! My life would be so much less annoying without you in it!"
It wasn't the first time Bakugo had told Todoroki to go die, but it was the first time he got a reaction like this from him.
At first, Todoroki looked shocked, then his expression changed. He looked like he was thinking, considering something. The expression only remained for a moment before Todoroki noticed Bakugo looking at him and reset his face to one of no emotion. Todoroki suddenly stood up from his chair, leaving the classroom in a hurry.
Bakugo was a little confused at his reaction, but after a second, he realized he didn't care.
Bakugo left the classroom, heading to his dorm room, before noticing something he didn't have his bag with him.
He walked back into the class. After carefully scanning the room, he came to the conclusion that his bag wasn't there. Bakugo mentally backtracked, trying to remember when he last had it. The last time he could remember having his backpack for sure was on the roof, when he was eating lunch with Kirishima.
Bakugo was annoyed that he had to go to the roof to get his stuff before being able to relax his room, but he knew he had to. He let out an exagerated sigh before beginning his journey to the roof.
The blonde walked through the halls and up the stairs that led to the roof. He then opened the door, revealing the outside world. The evening air filled his lungs, his hair swaying due to the cool breeze. Kirishima was right, it was nice on the roof.
Bakugo looked around. He saw his bag laying in the floor, but before he got a chance to pick it up, something on the edge of the roof caught his attention: Todoroki.
