Todoroki's POV
Todoroki was sitting on a chair right outside Bakugo's hospital room. Only Bakugo's immediate family was allowed inside, do Todoroki was going to wait outside the room until he could come in.
Todoroki had been sitting outside the room for so long that his phone has dried from looking at it so much. His mind kept replaying the scene of Bakugo being crushed. He couldn't stop blaming himself for the accident.
He allowed Bakugo to fight even though he knew how reckless he was. He should've expected the building to break. It was his fault his love was in pain.
The door to the hospital room opened. A woman, who was very obviously Bakugo's mother, came out. She looked surprised to see Todoroki sitting there, like she was expecting him to be gone by now.
"You're still here? You and Katsuki must be close." Mrs. Bakugo said with a smile on her face, though the smile seemed to be laced with sadness.
"Yes, I suppose we are." Todoroki said in a monotone voice. Any other day, he'd be excited to meet Bakugo's mother, but he didn't have enough energy to feel excited today.
Bakugo's mother sat down beside Todoroki. She said, "I'm not sure what happened, but Katsuki really should be prepared for something like this to happen. Honestly, how does that boy to expect to become a hero if he's going to be so stupid about simple things?"
Although the woman meant to harm, Todoroki hated how she spoke about her son. Bakugo had helped Todoroki more than he deserved. He had his flaws, but he was very smart, strong, and treated Todoroki extremely well. How could his own mother not see how great he was?
"Shut up. Katsuki doesn't need to change anything about himself. Maybe you should be more supportive and realize that." Todoroki said without even thinking about what was coming out of his mouth. Before he k re it, he has insulted his boyfriend's mother.
To Todoroki's surprise, the woman wasn't angry. She was smiling as she said, "Maybe you're right. I'm glad to see Katsuki has made some good friends."
