Byrd strode through the village and out to the vines, breaking into a sprint as she made her way along a row. She knew she'd be faster then Emori, but she knew she definitely was not faster then a motorbike as it's engine echoed in the air. She cursed under her breath, but kept pushing until she was on the other side of the barrier; sighing as the rush the radiation gave her as it tried to burn her skin. She grinned from ear to ear at her freedom, but in the back of her mind, she knew she couldn't leave.

'Stupid feelings,' She muttered as she turned away.

Byrd walked along the barrier until she spotted Josephine and Murphy by their motorbike, facing away from her as they spoke to Emori.

'I am so sorry it had to be like this,' Emori sighed.

'Like what?' Murphy queried; 'Emori, nothing needs to change. We can go back right now. I told them not to tell the guards about any of this.'

A branch snapped from behind Emori as Echo and Bellamy let their presence be known, Murphy's face falling as he turned to walk back to Josephine; his features riddled with guilt.

'That's what we were counting on,' Bellamy called.

He almost stopped when he spotted the Delani girl, but she merely smirked and held her finger up over her lips; winking his way. He tried to hide the shocked expression on his face as he continued toward Josephine, who's gaze remained on the trio walking toward them.

'Oh, perfect,' Josephine drawled; 'You know, I admire you guys. I really do. If the other Primes had your balls, we'd be swimming in hosts, and none of this would be necessary. But, unfortunately, it is. So, I'm gonna give you the facts because I really don't think you've thought this through. Yes, Clarke's alive, but the brain we now share is dying. So unless one of you is a neurosurgeon, the body will die in hours, not days. My mind will be backed up, and hers won't.'

'Actually, our neurosurgeon's on his way,' Echo smirked.

Josephine looked to Murphy for confirmation, the boy nodding as he turned his head to meet her eye.

'Jackson,' He sighed.

She scoffed, 'Ok. Sure. Let's say he figures it out. He won't, but just for fun. Where're you gonna operate? Here, in a joberry field?'

'Actually, we're thinking about using one of the fourteen research outposts marked on the map your father gave us,' Bellamy informed her.

'Well, it's too bad you can't get past the radiation shield.'

'Oh, that's where I come in,' Byrd chimed, waving as Josephine spun around wide eyed; 'As well as the EMP.'

Emori started forward with the EMP in hand, Josephine pulled Murphy to her with a scalpel to his neck; causing the grounder to drop the EMP. Byrd pulled her small knife from the sheath on her leg, curling it up to hide it along the back of her arm; a scowl on her lips.
