Byrd leant back against the kitchen bench within the large house they'd been given on the outskirts of Sanctum, a bowl in her hand full of the soup she'd made as Raven supervised. Indra stood tense beside her, arms crossed over her chest as she watched Raven pour a bowl for Madi. Everyone else was outside in the sunshine, awaiting the food they were about to bring out.

'Who knew you could cook, Byrd,' Madi smirked.

'Knife skills aren't just useful in combat, Strik Gona,' Byrd winked.

The girl giggled, accepting the bowl from Raven; Byrd smiling softly.

'Heda. If you don't mind, you're needed elsewhere,' Indra stated.

Madi's smile fell from her face, a sigh falling from the Delani girl's lips as she placed her bowl down.

Clarke strode into the room, 'Where?'

'We've been here a day, and Wonkru hasn't seen her,' Indra reminded them.

'Mother, don't be so dramatic,' Gaia hissed; 'Go on, Madi. Eat your lunch. It's ok.'

Byrd clenched her jaw, watching as the girl left the room with the dog at her side. Indra crossed the room, trying not to pace.

'She seems ok,' Raven nodded.

'She is,' Indra stated.

'She will be,' Gaia spoke softer; 'There's never been an ex-commander before. We don't know how having the flame removed will affect her. Not to mention being taken over by-'

'Sheidheda's gone.'

'Are we sure about that?' Byrd drawled.

'He's gone,' Raven spoke quickly; 'I didn't mean- I... I would just feel better if I knew where that code ended up, that's all.'

'Ok,' Clarke nodded; 'Then on your next supply run to the mothership, you can search the computer again. Meantime, we have to establish a routine. Not just for Madi but for all of us. Sanctum is broken, and it's our job to put it back together. If we focus on that, we'll be ok.'

'Is really our job though?' Byrd stood; 'We should just let them fight it out while we have our fun.'

'Yes, it is. Now let's eat so we can get back to work.'

'One of us needs to represent the commander,' Indra instructed; 'And I'm hungry.'

'So am I,' Byrd followed after her friend.

She trotted down the stairs of the house and out to the large clearing, listening to the music playing through the radio. She scanned the table full of food, shoving Miller playfully before she stole a bread roll from his plate. She grinned, biting into it as she approached Murphy and Emori; sinking down onto the picnic blanket between his legs. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders, pulling her back into him before he tried to take a bite of the roll; only for her hand to catch his cheeks.
