I sat in my room sketching away with some scrap paper I found. You see I live in a shitty care home, where everyone hated me. Even the adults that were meant to look after me.

You see I was apparently weird. They told me I was a freak. If a was very upset the weather would change for some reason, if I was angry at someone, they would suddenly feel intense amounts of pain in their head and would burst into tears.

Because of this I was cut off from everyone. I'm only allowed to eat my meals in my room. Alone. I can only go outside when everyone was inside. Alone. And the only thing I'm allowed to do was sit in my room using the hand me downs and scraps of the things the other children didn't want. Alone.

"Hello Mia." The main adult said in a kind voice which isn't the usual at all. "Y-yes." I stuttered not use the soft sound. "Can we errm come in?" She probably also unsure about herself. "We?" I questioned standing up before the door was opened with a large creak. "M-mia this is Professor Dumbledore; he wants to speak to you about joining his school." She said leading an elderly into the room. He had a very overgrown beard and was wearing a bright lime green suit. He looked at me with a twinkle in his eyes whereas I just stood there with a confused face. "I will be in my office." She said giving me one last look before leaving.

"Hello Mia." He said kindly before sitting in a creaking chair next to a very splintering table. "Hi?" I said confused as I sat across from him with a strange look. "I'm Professor Dumbledore." He said putting his wrinkly arm across the table. I looked at it before turning away "I know." I said bluntly. "Errm...Well I'm in charge of a school for..." He started pulling his hand away before I cut him off. "For psychos ." I said quickly as I turned back to him. "Now why would you think that?" He asked with a kind smile. "Because that's what they say every time they walk past that stupid door. They say, 'that girls off to the looney bin soon.' Or 'we are gonna get her in a home soon so don't worry.' I'm not stupid." I said hearing the rain start to patter on the window.

"Well I'm sorry they are saying that about you Mia, but that's not the reason why I'm here." He said putting his hands on his lap. "Then why are you here!" I spat at him losing my temper but unlike other adults he didn't flinch. "I'm here to invite you to my school for very special children." He said kindly. "Oh, so your taking me to a place for people with disabilities instead!" I shouted standing up. "No that is not what I meant at all. I'm mean for people who have abilities, people who have magic." He said smiling still sat down. "Magic? Are you being serious?" I said disbelief all over my face. "Yes, yes I am." He said still calm as hell. "And they say I'm the crazy one." I said walking over to my desk looking at the may drawings of snakes I had in crayons or cheap pencil. "You are not crazy Mia, you have magic." He said simply. "Oh really, prove it." I said snarkily turning back to him. He looked around my room before taking a stick out of his pocket.

He pointed it behind me before I heard a hiss. I turned around to see a sketched snake. However, it was now real. "Hello." I heard it say. "H-hello." I said back. I looked back at the professor, but he just looked at me with a knowing smile. "How did you make it do that?" I asked sitting back down at the table when the snake turned back to normal. "Do what?" He asked shrugging. "Let it talk to me?" I asked looking back at the drawing. "I didn't, that was all you Mia." He said his eyes somehow twinkling brighter. "I can't have done that." I said looking down at the stick in his hands. "What's that?" I asked looking at the intricate details. "All will be revealed, as long as you come to my school." He said standing up crossing his hands over each other. "I guess I could go..." I said looking around the room. "Very well then." He said handing me a letter "I will see you on the 1st of September." He said before leaving the room.

I looked at the address on the letter, Miss Mia Gaunt, Room at the end of the hallway, London. What have I just got myself into?
