“Wow George, you look really beautiful.” Ruby smiled as she watched Georgia stare at herself in Ruby’s mirror. She wasn’t convinced that she looked good as she was standing next Ruby who was wearing a slick tight dress with killer wedges. Georgia just smiled back and Ruby instantly knew she didn’t accept the compliment. “Please don’t tell you don’t think you look hot in this grey crop top and pink mini skirt we both picked today.”
Georgia sighed and sat on the edge of Ruby’s bed. “There’s going to be so many other pretty girls tonight. Especially you, and then there will be me sitting by myself all lonely.”
Ruby lightly hit Georgia across her bare arm, “Don’t say that! I absolutely envy how skinny you are. All of the girls admire how skinny you are. And I’m not leaving your sight tonight until you want to be left alone with someone. Because I can guarantee that someone fancies you tonight already.”
No, you really don’t want to be as skinny as me. It’s hell. Georgia thought to herself. But soon enough a smile crept across her face, hoping to god it was Niall. “Really?” Georgia squealed, “Who? Please spill!”
Ruby jumped a little in excitement, “You know Niall’s friend Jake? That totally gorgeous boy? Yeah, well he wants in with you. Niall was telling me last night!”
Georgia’s expression turned from excited to a little let down. She always though Jake was gorgeous, brown hair flicked to one said with brown eyes, but she never liked the way he was. He talked himself up too much. Georgia didn’t like that in a guy.
“You don’t look happy about it? Care to explain?” Ruby asked. Georgia looked down and started fiddling with her fingers, she didn’t really want to tell Ruby that she had hopes on her saying Niall. But she sort of felt she could trust Ruby already so she didn’t see the harm. “Well, I was just kind of hoping that maybe N-” And before she could finished she was unintentionally interrupted by Harry barging through full of excitement. “Hello ladies!” Harry almost yelled. He went over to give Ruby a kiss and Georgia short and sweet hug. “The crew’s all here waiting down stairs and you guys look ready so hurry up and get down before everyone starts arriving. Louis brought some extra alcohol, so we should be set for the night for 100 people. You both look lovely tonight.”
The was obviously their cue to head down stairs with the rest of boys and girls. Georgia’s stomach churned at knowing Niall would be down there with this Kaitlin girl was there with him. And she wasn’t sure she was ready to see them both together. But in his eyes Georgia was just a friend to him. So she’d have to suck it up. Harry grabbed Ruby’s hand and Ruby whispered to Georgia while walking out the door, “We’ll talk about it later. I promise.”
Georgia smiled it off and tried her best to kick away the nerves she was feeling. It was her first actually social event, and with people that were well known. It was going to change a lot of people’s view on her, and in a way she was glad. But she was worried what they might think. She just thought to forget about it, because this was her first party with all the people she had ever wanted to be with.
The three of them made their way down the stairs and into the massive lounge that Ruby had and everyone looked excited. But that’s when Niall caught her eye, sat there in his denim flannel shirt with chinos and his supras. He made Georgia’s heart drop with just a smile. But that’s when Kaitlin walked in and sat right on Niall’s lap, Georgia’s heart had seemed to decipher and break. Kaitlin was gorgeous, brown hair, skinny and had an amazing smile. Georgia stood no chance against her.
“Hey Georgie Porgie, you’re looking gorgeous. Excited to party?” Louis buzzed as he interrupted Georgia’s thoughts. She smiled, and decided to accept the compliment Louis had thrown at her, “Thanks Lou. You look quite charming yourself!”
