This boi was half of my culminating project for art last semester, which I did in January. Even though soft pastel is my go-to medium, this ducc was surprisingly my first time using OIL pastels! They were pretty cool to use. They blended super easily which is a huge plus, and they layered AMAZINGLY. 10/10 would oil pastel again 👍

We had to draw something colourful in oil pastel for this assignment, and I ABSOLUTELY DIED WHEN I SAW THE REFERENCE OF THIS DUCK, IT WAS SO CUTE-

As soon as I saw the reference I had to draw it. I believe it's a Mandarin Duck, if anyone's interested in looking at other pictures and dying of cuteness-

And this was my art portfolio for this year! I explained the assignment in a previous chapter, in the Group of Seven Painting and Art Portfolio chapter, and since it's a difficult assignment to explain, you'll have to refer to that chapter to lear...

And this was my art portfolio for this year! I explained the assignment in a previous chapter, in the Group of Seven Painting and Art Portfolio chapter, and since it's a difficult assignment to explain, you'll have to refer to that chapter to learn what the assignment is about 😅
But for this year I decided to follow a Bob Ross tutorial (Bob is an absolute legend, R.I.P Bob) on a canvas (in acrylic paint instead of oil, since oil is insanely expensive), and incorporated the pictures of all the art I did during the semester as labels for paint bottles, all of which rest on an easel. The questions I had to answer I put as a "credit line" on the back of the canvas 😊
It was a pretty fun portfolio to make, and I literally made the entire thing.
I stretched the canvas with my after-school art teacher, painted the canvas myself (actually, painted along with Bob), put together the easel myself, cut the bottles out of a giant dowel (and a smaller dowel for the lids) and painted them myself. It was a lot of work, but it was very fun to do, and I was very happy with it 😊
