We've been in Spain for about a week now. I run back to England every day to check on the witches. I am now able to run 60 000 000 km/hour. I somehow just keep getting faster and faster and I have no idea when it will stop.
Jen said she has a surprise for me today. I decided to be polite and not read her mind, I mean where's the fun in that?!
We climb into the car but weirdly Jen's aura is very nervous and a little scared.
"Jen, are you okay?"
She sighed. "I'll tell you what's bothering me later okay? Please for now just let it go?"
"Okay." I understand where she's coming from, I'll give her some space, its not exactly fair that I could read her aura so easily.
We drove a few minutes until we pulled up to the side of the road in the middle of the city in Spain. We were surrounded by giant skyscrapers and nice buildings.
Jen looked even more nervous her hands were even shaking gently.
I looked at her, concern covering my face. She lifted up a blindfold confusing me even more.
I put it on and felt her anxiety relax a little.
She grabbed my hand and led me into what I assume is a building. She talked in hush voices to someone before leading me down some echoing halls.
Finally we stopped and she took a big shaky breath.
"Can I remove my blind fold?" I said, a little excited to see what all the fuss was about.
"One more minute."
We stop there in silence for another couple of minutes before she spoke up again. "Okay, go ahead and take it off."
I removed it to reveal a doctor's office. What the hell?
I turned to Jen questioningly as her anxiety peaked. She was literally sweating visibly as she avoided eye contact with me.
The reality came crashing down on me as I realized what was happening. But I couldn't be right. Jen wouldn't do that would she?
"Jen?" I asked, "What the hell is this?"
She just looked down avoiding eyes contact when a man walked in in a white lab coat.
"Ellie Green?" She asked.
"Yes, that's me."
"I'm here to test to see if you are indeed dying from what your other doctor believes. Her diagnosis is not one I'm familiar with but I called her and we discussed it a little. What she says makes a lot of sense but I'd be happy to double check for you guys, making sure everything adds up."
I smiled Kindly at the doctor, Jen still avoiding eye contact. I can't believe she brought me here against my will.
I sat on the examination bed as she took a couple files of blood.
She did a full physical. I could see her aura darken as she took in all of the scars that littered my body, what she doesn't know is that the majority healed, only the deep ones were still there.
Jen stood in the corner, watching her diligently.
"I am going to go get the tests to confirm your doctor's suspicions, but from what I've seen so far, it looks like she is correct."
Jen broke into tears when she said that. I looked at the ground. I felt guilty. I hated that she refused to listen to me. She did the exact opposite of what I wanted.
