Less than a week into the summer and the dates suddenly commenced.

To her first escapade, she wore a polka-dotted green skirt, a white shirt, and Chanel sandals that matched her Chanel purse. She flounced down the magnificent porch steps of the Thorpe mansion, her skirt swishing around her toned thighs. Charlotte embraced her evening companion as if she had known him for years. And maybe she did.

The day after that was a new beau. For this excursion, she donned a denim-blue dress with a ruffle hem and straps that tied on her shoulders. Her hair was tied back with a silky Hermes scarf. With her shoes and accessories, the outfit easily exceeded $1,000 in worth. These little boys she courted had no idea the worth of a Vendivere-Thorpe woman.

On the weekend, Charlotte entertained a "fit chap" as she'd put it who pulled up to the house in a Lexus. He wore a button-up and khaki slacks along with loafers. He regarded the Thorpe home with dampened enthusiasm. He was accustomed to her wealth so it seemed. For that evening date, she wore a tea length pleated pink skirt and off the shoulder striped top along with strappy heels and a Dior purse. Dressed to the nines. Delilah liked her wavy hair.

Grayson watched from the front windows as Charlotte prepared for another evening out with yet another unnamable lad. Dressed in a nude sheath dress with a white lace overlay, she paired the tight fitting dress with nude heels and a chunky gold bracelet. Her man for the night kissed her on the cheek and guided her to the car with a hand at her waist. Grayson found the entire display particularly humorous because she was texting him from the car and all throughout the date about what a dreadful laugh he had. His name was Laurence and for half the night, he had a booger in his nose. The poor guy never had a chance.

The next week, Georgia saw Charlotte off on a daytime adventure with a blonde haired, big handed fellow with a bellowing laugh that he heard all the way from across the street. He gladly exclaimed "Wow!" when Charlotte showed herself in a bohemian vibe red and pink dress, cinched at the waist with a Dior belt. Giggling girlishly, Charlotte twirled for him in her dainty black sandals. That's when Delilah started to take notice of his unusual and timely spying of the family across the street.

"You keep watching her," she whispered behind the curtains, narrowing her eyes on the SUV that departed from the Thorpe household with Charlotte in the passenger seat.

"She keeps going on dates," he mumbled, scratching his fingers through his hair. In her absence, he was forced to stay home and occupy himself. Worse, his mother encouraged unreasonable amount of sibling bonding. His only reprieve: boyfriend girlfriend quality time which often felt like prison instead of relaxation.

"She's a pretty girl. Single. Not unreasonable," Delilah contended, shrugging her shoulders. Her hair was braided down her back so as not to distract her for her upcoming gymnastics appointment.

"Kids, come empty the dishwasher please!" Layne called from the kitchen.

Sharing a displeased look with his sister, Grayson quickly came up with a soft denial, "Can't! Gotta drop Blue off at practice!" He ripped the keys off the foyer table and motioned Delilah along.
