Chapter 21||
Bryant and I spent so much time with Tammy and Noah. It was fun and I was happy to see them again. Watching Noah and Shiloh finally become a couple was even sweeter. I hate saying it, but it looked like Bryant had a bet going on.
Also Bryant was called to Noah's attention because Noah cut himself. Watching him stitch it up was slightly disgusting, but I got Noah through it all. Sure Shiloh helped a little bit, but I like to say it was all me. Also that night we told Noah's group of friends about our age difference. They all took it well which was nice. I'm always so scared to tell people because what happens if they don't want us together anymore because of it?
Now it was time for Bry and I to have time to ourselves because it was Valentines day. Now sure I didn't know how his plan was going to go down because he told me the whole plan when we were fighting. So I hoped for the best today.
"Good Morning Gorgeous." He kissed my head while handing me breakfast. Breakfast looked gourmet. Chocolate chip pancakes and strawberries. He got out his phone and took a photo of me eating. "I look disgusting when I eat!"
"You look great! Love, look at you!" He showed me his phone and I was right, I looked absolutely terrible. "I swear if you use that as blackmail, I will kill you."
"Now you keep saying that. But I would love to see you try."
I took another bite of the pancake and scrolled through instagram. Bryant left the room and I was left alone, but I wasn't alone for a long time. "So what are y'all doing tonight?" Ariel asked.
"Beats me. Maybe dinner? I don't know." I looked at her and she wiggled her eyebrows.
"I don't want any more nieces or nephews, so be careful tonight." She giggled.
That did not just leave her mouth! I mean I could see Celeste saying that if she was Ariel's age. "Hah, lucky for you I don't want kids."
She threw her hands up in the air and then hugged me, "I'm so glad I'm not the only one. They're so annoying and they cry. Also I don't think I'll ever mature."
I stifled a laugh and ate some more. I started pointing my fork, "Have you met your brother? I don't think he'll ever mature and he's over here wanting kids!"
She took a strawberry off the plate and nodded her head, "Have you seen him with Lydia's kids?"-I shook my head-"Well he loves them. Maybe seeing him with kids will make you want them."
"Weren't you just saying something about not wanting kids?"
"I'm a problem solver. But hey, Bryant loves those kids. Unless there's another reason why you don't want kids." She raised her eyebrows again and popped a strawberry in her mouth.
"Did Bry put you up to this?"
"Nope."
Should I really tell her? She's like family, I could trust her. "Pinky promise you won't tell anyone?" I held out my pinky and she pushed it back towards me, "I don't do pinky promises. Cross my heart, swear to god though."
"Fine, it's because of my ex. He said I would never be a good mother because I couldn't, I- um- please him. Or he said I was only good around the house." I looked at her and she looked upset.
"Where did you meet this man?"
"In high school. He was sweet at first. He started getting drunk and it wasn't the best. It's hard to explain. It's easier to say I was in an abusive relationship and now I'm out. And thanks to your brother, I'm not scared to love again." I smiled down at the pancakes and looked back at Ariel.
