Chapter 25: Woman Up

Chapter 25||

Date night.

Double date night.

Celeste had the idea we should all go out, since Bryant was leaving soon and they were getting married in two months. Sure I wasn't ready for anything they were going to throw my way. But I was ready for some alone time, time to start writing.

I got out one of my dresses and started doing my makeup. I was going simple, I didn't like wearing a lot. But I played my music and sang the lyrics. It was great and I was happy to do it.

I got my heels on and Bryant was already waiting by the door with keys and a wallet. "You ready gorgeous?"

"Always." I smiled and got to his car. We got in and of course it was silent. We really hadn't talked since the night he told me he was leaving. It probably wasn't the best for our relationship since he was leaving. But I couldn't bring myself to talk to him or look him in the eyes. I felt like I was hiding something, I felt like I was hiding something since the night I thought about kids.

I still hadn't told him. I knew he was going to be super happy. I was super happy that I was thinking about a future, with him, finally. It wasn't about what Noah said, it was about me womaning up realizing that Bryant was there for me no matter what happened.

"What's on your mind?"

"Just some things. I've been thinking a lot lately." He grabbed my hand and kissed the top.

"What have you been thinking about?" He mumbled against my hand. I shrugged and smiled at him. "Just the future."

He stopped looking straight at the road and looked at me smiling, "What about the future?"

"So remember a couple nights ago when we were dancing?"-He nodded his head-"Well I was thinking about our wedding night. What we would be dancing too. Then I thought about how we would embarrass our kids' with dances." I looked at him and saw his raised eyebrows.

"Kids?"

"Kids." I agreed. He started laughing, I could tell he was surprised. He would laugh when he was surprised or any of his emotions. But I told him.

"You want kids?"

"Yes. Are you not happy with that? You were blatantly begging in California." I crossed my arms and started looking at the window. This was big! I finally thought of the future with him and now he was acting like an ass. "You don't have to act like an ass."

"How am I acting like an ass?"

"Well normally you would be happy. I just thought about the future! Hello! This is insane." We pulled in the bar we were meeting at. I didn't see Celeste's car yet. I only saw Bryant coming to my side of the car. He quickly pulled me out and brought me into the bar. He nodded his head to the bathroom. "We're not doing this here." I whispered.

But he didn't listen. So followed him to the back of the bar and we got into the bathroom. Once the door was closed his lips were smashed onto mine. He started kissing up and down my neck and hoisted me on top of the sink. "Let me just say this before we continue Ellie. I love you, a lot. I want kids with you. This is my reaction." I smashed my lips onto his and he started pulling down my straps.

"Later. Can we get back before we actually try having sex in here?" I pulled up my straps and fixed my heels. I was about to open the door when Bryant pulled me back over to him. "Not so fast. You just told me you want kids with me."

"I know. I'm the one who told you."

"So let me be happy about it." He smiled.

"We're not making out when you're happy. We talk about why you're happy. Not make out." I reminded him.

"But-"

"No but's Bry. You shouldn't want to make out with me when you're happy. You should give me all the reasons." I opened the door and he quickly closed it.

"You want to know how happy I am? Well Ellie, I have money set aside for my, now our, future kids. I've been waiting for you to tell me this forever. I really don't think you wanted me to stop the car in the middle of the road and give a huge kiss. I'm so happy I could cry. I can't believe what you said, I'm so proud of you. I just don't know how to put it to words. I'm good at one thing and that's being with you." He looked into my eyes and I couldn't help but smile at him.

"That's all I wanted. I don't want kids now though. I know you were going to ask." I smile.

He kissed me one last time before we left the bathroom. Celeste eyed me and started giggling knowing what happened in there. Bryant started talking to Jacob and Celeste and I started talking too. We talked, gossiped, and bitched about everything. I was happy that the boys were finally talking.

But then I dropped the California things to Celeste. I told her that he was moving and I was staying. She knew I was going to be lost without him. We all knew.

I just wasn't ready for what was coming.
