He came bursting through the door and quickly closed it behind him. "You're pregnant?!"
I nodded my head and walked back into the room and got back underneath the covers. He walked into the room flustered, "So we're not going to talk about this?"
I turned to my side and put a pillow over my head but he quickly pulled the pillow off and looked at me, "No one has told me you've been sick."
"I haven't had morning sickness, Bryant."
"Did you get your levels checked up?" Everyone I'd like you to meet doctor Bryant. He cares about everyone and can forget that he basically yelled at his girlfriend earlier.
"Yes. She said I'm fine."
"Where are the tests?"
I rolled my eyes, "The lowest cabinet in the bathroom."
He nodded his head and moved wisps of hair out of my face and moved them behind my ears. "I'm sorry for getting so mad. It's just my last shift at work didn't go too well," He propped himself up on the drawers and ran his hands through his hair. "We lost a girl Rachel's age. She was fine one moment then in the next she was gone. It's never happened to me before. Normally I can help, but it was too late."
I took in a shaky breath and propped myself up using my elbows, "Is that why you didn't want to go today?" He nodded his head, "I just didn't want to act like the boyfriend that keeps you away from your friends. I love you so much." He still wasn't looking at me.
I got up and sat down next to him, "You signed up to be a doctor."
"But she was a helpless little six year old. She didn't know what was going on. She was talking to me and the next she was finding it hard to breath. She was telling me a story about her brother's baseball team. Sweetest little thing ever." I grabbed his hand and kissed the top, "Soon enough we'll have our own sweetest little thing ever. They'll be running around our house in California and your parents will come and visit us. We'll have the sweetest backyard. I'll have my first book out and you'll still work in the hospital. It'll be amazing."
He lit up and his smile was as big as ever, "You said California."
"I know dork."
"We're going to have the cutest family ever."
I put my head on his shoulder and wrapped my arm around his, "Trust me. I know."
"Why didn't you tell me sooner Ellie?"
I shrugged my shoulders and kissed his shoulder, "I have no idea. I was so scared and I didn't know what to say or what I would tell you. So I guess I thought yelling at you would be the best idea." He kissed my head and I felt him laugh a little.
"I'm not going to lie, I acted like a dick back there. I shouldn't have done that, I need to learn that you've had exes."
"Flings and Josh. It's not like they were big."
He started laughing at me, "It's nice to know they're not big." I slapped his arm and rolled my eyes at him, "You're such an idiot. I can't believe you said that."
"There's more where that came from, love." We sat there in silence for what felt like forever but it was nice. Being in his arms made me feel at home and safe even when he acts all stupid. Part of me wished I didn't tell him like this, all of me wished. I guess he didn't understand how much I loved him, but now he does. That's all that matters.
"The girls are going to have a fit about this." Bryant chuckled.
"I'm surprised they're not knocking down my door. I bet Jacob would join them."
"If they knocked down our door we'd have a problem."
I crooked an eyebrow at him, "Why?"
"Because they'd see me kissing you." Before I could even react his lips were on mine and he was kissing me. It wasn't like our other kisses where they were fast paced these were slow. He stood up and didn't break our kiss, I jumped up and wrapped my legs around his waist. "This would've been my reaction if we were alone." He mumbled.
"I bet." I smiled and kissed him again.
"I'm so happy, Ellie. We're having a kid." He brought me into the kitchen and sat me down on the counter. I couldn't help but laugh at him, "I know. This doesn't mean you stay here with me. You're still going to California then we'll meet each other in Texas."
"Already bossy." He mumbled against my lips.
"Someone's going to have to be bossy. You're going to be chill."
"No, I'll be bossy. I swear. If we have a girl, I'm not going to have her out. She'll have to sneak out if she wants to leave."
She's definitely not sneaking out, "Um no. We'll be chill parents, but if she sneaks out she's grounded... Also how many do we want, Bry?"
He looked up from his water and looked at me, "Kids?"
I rolled my eyes, "No goldfish... Of course kids!"
He shrugged his shoulders, "I mean three sounds fun."
"Three?! You know I'm going to be the one carrying around the kids? Taking care of them? You'll be at work."
He laughed, "I'll help."
You better.
