After my fight with Dean, I talked to Aj and realized why I was really so hurt by what Dean did.
Anyways, after we talked, I delivered a kickass promo, relived my win from the day before, then I gave my mom a piece of my mind when I got backstage.
I learned a lot about myself yesterday. I realized for one that I need to be in control of my own narrative. I also realized I still harbored a little resentment- actually a lot of resentment towards my mom for the whole Chris situation. There's just a lot going on in my head right now, and I just need a day without drama.
Dean
Can we talk?
I ignored his text and closed my phone. No boys.
Then I heard a knock on my door.
This better not be Dean. I am not in the mood for a fight.
I opened up the door ready to run my mouth a bit, but then I realized it wasn't Dean at the door. It was Dolph.
"Dolph," I said surprised.
"Hey champ!" He said pulling me in for a hug, "I was about to go for a Starbucks run but then I realized I should pay my favorite diva a visit!"
"Aw that's sweet," I said, "but I'm not in the mood to go out."
"Oh you think I was inviting you..." he trailed off causing me to hit him on the shoulder which resulted in him laughing at me.
"Oh shut up," I told him.
"Look. Ella. It's Starbucks. I wouldn't consider that going out. Besides you look fine."
"Okay I guess," I said giving in, "let me grab my wallet."
"Nonsense. My treat," he told me with a smile on his face.
I shrugged following him to the elevator. I guess it wouldn't hurt getting my mind off my fight with Dean for a little while.
Once we exited the hotel, we only had to walk a block to get to the nearest Starbucks. I got a tall chai tea latte and Dolph got some complicated order, before we sat down at a little table by the window.
"Talk to me champ. How are you?"
"You know," I trailed off.
"No I actually don't," he laughed.
"Ugh. I was doing great until I got in a fight with Dean," I said without thinking. I realize this might be a sore subject to talk with Dolph about. However, this statement resulted in an eyebrow raise from him.
"What happened?" He asked.
So I told him everything.
"Ouch." He said.
"Do you think I overreacted?" I asked.
"No not at all. Especially with everything you've gone through these past couple of months."
"That's what I was thinking, but then again, this is our first real fight. I hope I wasn't to hard on him," I replied.
"I get it. Like, you want to be firm, but you don't want him to think you care about him any less."
"Exactly. What do you think I should do?"
"Give it a couple days. Maybe wait for him to come talk to you and then just be honest with him."
"Yeah good idea," I told him, "okay I don't want to talk about this anymore. Talk to me about you."
"Well obviously, I got eliminated in the Battle Royale at Wrestlemania by Alberto, which really sucked but aside from that loss, I've been really focused on my career lately," he spoke with confidence.
"Good for you Dolph. You're one of the most hardworking guys on the roster. I know great things are coming your way," I responded with a smile on my face. I was really proud of how far he's come.
"Thanks El. I have a good feeling there's a big push coming my way."
"I think so too," I said, taking one last sip of my latte.
"You ready to go back?" He asked me.
"Yeah," I responded.
He grabbed my cup from the table along with his and threw it away and I got the door.
He nodded at me and exited and I followed.
When we got back to the hotel, we stopped in the lobby and he pulled me in for a hug.
"Are you not going up to your room?" I asked.
"Nah. I'm gonna go out, look around the city."
"Ooh that sounds fun. It's so amazing here! Well text me if you get bored. I had a lot of fun Ziggy," I told him.
"Me too blondey," he smiled.
"Right, I'm the only natural blonde here, so I'm the only one worthy of that nickname," I joked.
"I can't disagree with you there." He laughed, before I turned around and walked to the elevator. It sure felt nice to go out with an old friend. Just what I needed to take my mind off of Dean. I told Dean I would stay in the hotel and he could stay in the air BNB we rented for the week since I didn't want to stay in the big house all by myself.
