Chapter 3

"What do you mean, you're 'quitting'?" Mr. Vin says acting like he doesn't know the word.

"Exactly what it means. I'm done being treated like crap here, so I quit."

I sound pretty good right now.

"Ha-ha, very funny, now get back to work Luhan." He laughs before looking back down at the work on his desk.

I put the uniforms he gave me when I first started working here on his desk and tell him that I'm done here before walking out of the office.

"Luhan, where are you going?" I hear Baekhyun call from behind me as I walk to the front door.

"I'm, uh, I don't work here anymore."

I feel bad leaving Baekyhun here, he's been so nice to me, maybe Mr. Wu would give him a job at the hotel as well.

"What? He fired you?!" He says as he hurries over to me.

"No, no, I quit."

"Wha- you quit? Why did you quit?" He sounds kinda sad, I can't help but feel bad.

"I found a better job. I don't like the way he's treating us." I say honestly.

He stands there not knowing what to say, neither do I. I've grown to like Baekyhun over the past weeks and I don't want to leave him, but I have a better job offer than this one.

"I'll still see you around, right?" He asks softly.

"Yeah, of course. You know where I'm staying, you should come by after work maybe?"

"Uh, what if we went and got dinner, maybe? That part of town is a little sketchy." He laughs.

"You're right." I laugh in agreement.

"Okay, I'll pick you up around seven?" He smiles.

"Okay, I'll see you then." I smile before giving him a quick hug and leave.

It feels good knowing that I won't have to be go back there.

When I get back at my apartment I take a quick shower then pull a pair of gray skinny jeans and a black hoodie on. I turn on some of the lights and I realize how messy it is in here. I don't think they have a cleaning service here either.

I need to move out of here.

I pick up some of the clothes that are scattered around and take them to my room to put in my laundry bag. I'll have to go wash these later this week.

I wipe down the counter with a wet paper towel, seeing I have no cleaning spray surprisingly, before cleaning out the fridge.

My job is to clean yet I'm a pig at home.

I decide to just have a big clean my hotel room day tomorrow since I have three days until I start working for Mr. Wu officially.

I take a bath towel and use it to dry my hair as best I can before brushing it and trying to style it. I need to get it cut as well. It's getting to long and my roots are starting to show. I think it kinda looks good though, blonde on top with a little bit of brown on the bottom.

I go over to my bed and look at the clock.

7:19p.m.

I quickly grab my wallet and key before hurrying to the elevator and wait for it to go down. Luckily it doesn't stop on the way down so I get out quicker and hurry out of the building.

Right as I get out I see Baekhyun pulling in with a apologetic smile on his face.

"Hey." I say as I get in.

"Sorry I'm late, there was traffic." He laughs.

Well that turned out good, we both were a little late and ended up coming out at the same time.

"It's fine, I lost track of time." I chuckle. "I was trying to clean up a little."

"Well that turned out good though, we both got here at the same time." He smiles at me before pulling out of the lot.

We pull up to a small restaurant that looks pretty casual. I have a feeling it's a pizzeria considering the pizza slice shaped sign above the restaurant.

I can't help the small smile the grows on my face when Baekhyun parks the car in front of it.

"This places looks kinda small and old but it has some of the best pizza in the world here." He smiles at me before getting out of the car.

I follow him inside and sit down at one of the small booths that has a window by it.

We order our pizza with our drinks when the waitress comes since we both want the same thing and are hungry. This place is nice and the serves is really good as well.

"Where are you going to work if you quit with Mr. Vin?" He ask before taking a drink of his soda.

"I found another job at one of the hotels in the middle of town. It's like, 25 minutes away from where I'm staying." Well, this job actually found me.

"Oh, I'm sad you're not gonna working with me anymore. Believe it or not but it was more fun since you arrived." He chuckled as if he was mainly saying it to himself.

"You should see if you could get a job there too. Mr. Vin treats everyone like dirt, I guess a lot of people have quit and gone to work for Mr. Wu. He's really nice and everyone-"

"Wait, that's who you are going to work for? Mr. Wu?" He says cutting me off. "At the Marriott Hotel?"

"Yeah, you've heard of it?"

"Mhm, I used to work there." He says softly.

"What happened?" Why doesn't he still work there?

"Um, there were complications, I quit a couple years ago. Anyways, Mr. Vin flipped out once you left. It was kinda funny." He adds trying to change the subject.

"What kind of complications where there?"

"Uh, I didn't get along with some of the workers, I got tired of it so I left." He says looking at his drink.

"Well, what kinds of things do you like to do in you free time?" I say trying to change the subject myself.

A small smile tugs at the corners of his mouth before he opens it then closes it trying to keep himself from laughing.

AN// Hey guys! I hope you like my story!! This isn't my first idea for this book and I've actually had to change a lot of things in the first two chapters while I was writing this chapter because I got a better idea lol and this is a hanhun fanfic!! It might not seem like it is but don't worry I'll get there. Sorry it's going so slow but it's all for a reason:)
