My heart was in my throat, and my skin was sweaty. My stomach felt like it was flipped inside out, and my legs were shaking uncontrollably. I tried hard not to pick at the cuticle of my nails, but my hands had a mind of their own.

Seeder pulled a thick Jacket out from the closet; I felt the material of it and could tell it was water-resistant and warm. It was black, matching my wide black pants and warm boots.

"Based on the clothing, it seems like you are going to be in a colder climate," Seeder explained, zipping up my jacket. I could already feel myself sweat, and I couldn't tell if it was because of my nerves or the coat. Once I was all done up, Seeder placed her hand on my lower back and gently guided me to the tube.

"Here," she grabbed something from her pocket, "Each tribute can take a Token into the games with them," Seeder explained, giving me a necklace. It was made up of silver, and it was a rectangle with 11 engraved on it. Ive never owned something so beautiful in my life.

"I know it's not much, but-" I cut her off by hugging her. I could tell she was taken off guard due to her stiffening from my touch, but I didn't care.

"Thank you!" I mumbled. It was beautiful.

"Good luck,"  she whispered back before breaking the hug. I gave her a nervous nod before stepping back into the tube. A beeping sound erupted from the speaker as the tube moved upwards. I suddenly wanted to run away but knew that was impossible. I was trapped.

My eyes burned once the bright sun hit my eyes causing me to cover them with my hands, trying to give them time to adjust to the change.

I quickly examined my surroundings. I noticed that we were all surrounded by water and the cornucopia was in the middle like an island. The air was warm and humid, making me confused as to why I was given a warm jacket. To get to the cornucopia, I would have to swim, and the coat would slow me down. I grabbed the zipper but didn't unzip it. I didn't want to be killed by the game makers for cheating.

"Happy Hunger Games! May the odds be ever in your favour." The game maker's voice was loud against the shadow silence of the tributes.

He slowly started to count down from 30. Each number spoken was like a personal bullet to the chest, each one hurting more and more. I could feel by heart pounding and the adrenaline rising wiping any anxiety i was feeling into determination.
