"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..." I sang out as I smiled at my gorgeous Anna who was laughing and hanging up decorations on our stairwell. "Ev'rywhere you go; Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again with candy canes and silver lanes aglow." She sang back to me with a big grin.
"How is it possible for someone to sing so well? It sounds like a chorus of angels every time you sing." Anna blushed then turned back around to hang the last decoration. "There," she said, "The apartment now looks like Christmas threw up everywhere." "Well that's a strange metaphor," I said with a raised eye brow. She shrugged then kissed my cheek.
"I got you an early Christmas present, but you'll have to sing a song for me first!" Anna smiled then pulled me along to the living room where she sat on the couch waiting for me to sing. "Do I really have to Anna, can't I just get the present?" She shook her head no and laughed.
"Come on Mr. Sparklez I don't have all day." I sighed with defeat then tried to think of a song to sing. Finally I just decided to sing It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas since I had already sang the first line.
"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... Ev'rywhere you go; Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again with candy canes and silver lanes aglow." I sang out as best as I could, throwing my hand towards the ceiling when I said Christmas.
"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, toys in ev'ry store, but the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be on your own front door." I ran over and grabbed a Santa hat that was sitting next to our Christmas Tree and put it on Anna's head.
"A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots is the wish of Barney and Ben; Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk is the hope of Janice and Jen; And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again."
I skipped in circles around the room with a big goofy smile then stopped at Anna's box full of Christmas decor and grabbed a small packet of fake snow.
As I ran back to the center of the room I threw a handful of fake snow at Anna.
"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
ev'rywhere you go! There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well, the sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow." While dancing in circles I threw more snow at Anna then wave my arms around.
"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Soon the bells will start, and the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing right within your... heaaaaaaaaaart!"
I finish off the song by holding out the last word and then dumping the rest of the snow on my head.
Anna let out a big laugh and clapped her hands. "Bravo! Amazing job!" I smiled and plopped my self down next to her on the couch.
"Now can I see what my present is?" She quickly grabbed my hands and pulled me to the hallway leading to the front door. "Here's your present!" I looked around confused, there was literally nothing in this hallway. It wasn't even decorated.
"Uh... Are you drunk or am I just terribly blind?" Anna let out a small laugh then pointed towards the ceiling where mistletoe hung. Now I got it.
Anna pulled me in for a kiss and I have to tell you, it was the best freaking kiss of my life. We stood their smiling and kissing as snow covered the ground outside and the sound of bells rang all around.
