Reggie's pov
I opened the door and it was my father. Fun fact about both Betty and I when were young both our parents decided to abandon us alone that's why I'm so protective of her. I can't lose my precious girl who stayed with me through is all. I looked back at my dad but this time with anger in my eyes. "you left me" "Reggie listen I had to your mother I loved her so much" "Loved?" "your mom passed away last year she overdosed" Reggie couldn't truly comprehend what he was saying. Then he heard little foot steps. His Betty. "bub who is it?" "Don't worry about it beautiful girl okay go get something to eat and I'll be there soon" Betty nodded and kissed me on the cheek then went to eat.
Betty's pov
Reggie was acting weird just now but I didn't worry. After 10 minutes Reggie came back in the kitchen. "Bubby what's wrong?" He lifted me up on the counter holding my waist. "That was my dad" He looked down i lifted his chin up so he was looking in my eyes. "Why was he here?" "He came to tell me that my mom she overdosed" "Baby I'm so sorry" "Its alright My job is to take care of you" "And mine is to take care of you"
Reggie's pov
I kissed Betty's head. "Don't worry Princess your all I need not them ever" "I love you" "I love you more then anything" I kissed her lips. The rest of the day consisted of burnt pancakes and a bag of flour being dumped on my head.
