JUNE- Meet me at the Octave park at 6pm
Sent at 3:15pm
Why in the world does she want to meet me now? I mean she barely even talks to me for the past few months and now she wants to meet at Octave park?
That's where my relationship fell out with Jay. I still clearly remember what happened. After all the person that I expected the least to leave me left me
"Jay! Jay please STOP! You have to listen to me. Wait!", my shouts echoed through the hallway as I ran to catch up with him. But to no avail Jay kept on storming away.
"Jay please wait, whatever she said was not true. You seriously ca-"
Jay abruptly stopped making me bump into his chest. "I seriously can't believe you would be such a lowlife and to think I was going to ask you out.", he mumbled to himself, but I heard every single thing.
"Were you really gonna ask me ou-"
"Shoot what you have to say.", he cut me off short in a dangerously low voice. I was taken aback by his behaviour and he must have noticed it too because his eyes softened for a moment before wearing the same stony expression again. I gulped nervously and started speaking.
" Look. I am not a lowlife and I don't know why Mandy started the rumour of me making fun of your dad, but you have to trust me, I would never make fun of him. He was like another father figure to me Jay and I am grieving his death as much as you are.", I gave him a small smile, putting my hand on his shoulder , but he flinched away and gave me a disgusted look.
" I'm pretty sure Amanda was right, she can't be lying about something as serious as this. And he was June and my dad not yours! I can't help it if your dad died! You can't just go claiming others dads as yours!", he snapped bitterly. His face immediately jerked to the side from my hand's impact.
How could he say that to me? He was my best friend and we literally lived at each other's houses. His family was my second family and vice versa.
He looked up to meet my gaze and his eyes that were a frightening cold tone a few seconds ago were now flooded with guilt and remorse. He opened his mouth to say something but I beat him to it.
" Firsts of all,I am not a lowlife. Second, I DIDN'T AND WOULD NEVER MAKE FUN OF YOUR FAMILY! AND THIRD, STAY AWAY FROM ME IF YOU HATE ME SO MUCH AND GO TO AMANDA FOR ALL I CARE!", I screamed at his face through tears and marched down the hallway into an empty classroom, away from the prying eyes. I looked behind me to see if Jay was following me but he wasn't. I slammed the door shut and broke down into heart wrenching sobs. I felt as if my heart was being repeatedly squeezed by a strip of thorns. I had no friends and no one trusted me now. Everyone hates me now.
"Jennifer?", spoke a sweet voice.
I looked behind me to see a brunette with wearing an oversized band tee with dark blue jeans and a pair of white converse shoes.
"Jenny..i mean Jennif-"
"You can call me Jenny.", my voice cracked terribly and I hated myself for sounding so feeble.
She timidly smiled at my response and bent down and gave me a comforting hug. I started sobbing into her T-shirt, for which she didn't seem to mind a bit.
"It's gonna be okay Jenny. I heard whatever happened and I don't think you would ever do that.", she tried to soothe me, but I pulled back and stared into her bright green eyes that reminded me of a warm spring day.
"You don't even know me."
"Trust me, I can tell about the person by just looking at them and you seem like a nice person.", she smiled sympathetically.
I sniffed and wiped my nose." Thanks a lot. I really needed this ..uh-"
"It's Emma. Emma Jenkins.", she gave me bright smile.
And that was the day I felt that my guardian angel wasn't so bad after all.
I checked my phone to see that the time was 4:00pm already. I ran a hand through my hair. I had been daydreaming for an hour!
'Ding dong!'
It was the sound of the housebell.
"It must be Ava", I muttered." Ugg-", before I could finish complaining my mom shouted.
"Coming", shouted mom.
I ran downstairs to see the door open and my mom smiling at Ava.
"Hello dear! It's been so long! Come in, come in"
"It's okay Mrs Jones, I'm fine here.", Ava smiled tightly.
Oh, I know why she doesn't want to come in. If anyone finds out she entered my house, they would stop talking to her also.
Ava looked behind my mom and met my eyes.
"Actually Mrs Jones, I'm here to pickup Jenny. We are going to the park."
Oh no! Oh no! I don't want to go. Mom please say no-
"I'm sorry dear, but Jenny promised me to take her brother for soccer training and it happens to be today." mom apologised.
Yes! Mom saved my life. Whoa! Does telepathy work! Let's try it with Ava. Go away, go away-
"It's fine Mrs Jones, but can you give this card to her please?"
"Sure", and with that Ava went away.
Mom turned around and saw me at the staircase. I was still smiling like a psychopath at how everyone listened to what I thought(even though I knew it was a coincidence)and facts about telepathy were swirling around in my head.
" Oh you're here, great! You have to take Daniel for soccer and Ava gave you this card."
I took the card and read it over.
WHAT?
