EPILOGUE

Sighing, I made my way towards them, not before putting my poker face on. Ava also turned around and beamed when she saw me. As I reached them I couldn't help but think of why they were talking to ride operator. Were they planning to murder me or something?

"Hello Jennifer!", both of them said in unison.

"Okay, why am I here?, I questioned both of them, even though I knew why.

"Well, we are going to ride this amazing wheel!", June waved her hands frantically, gesturing towards the Ferris Wheel. She was always over enthusiastic, which made her personality quite fun and she was always lovely to hang out with. Alhough, she is extremely gullible. She will believe anyone and I mean anyone easily. Even if she has the proof right in front of her eyes she will be completely oblivious. Maybe that's why she believed the rumours?

"Okay stop it weirdo! You're embarrassing us in front of everyone.", Ava rolled her eyes In a good natured way . Ava has always been the sarcastic one. Her endless sarcasm always brought a smile to everyone's face. 

Ava gave me a tight lipped smile. "Let's get in shall we?"

I gave a halfhearted chuckle, "What's up with you guys these days? You've been staring at me all the time! You are not planning to murder me or something right?"

"We would never do that Jenny. I promise. Trust us, we will tell you everything.", June gave me an enthusiastic smile.

Sighing in defeat, I slumped my shoulders and motioned them to lead the way. They beamed at me and walked ahead. We entered a red coloured capsule with huge glass windows. I took a seat on one of the golden benches and June took a seat next to me, while Ava sat in front of us. We all remained silent while we waited for the Ferris wheel to start moving. Our capsule started moving, until we reached the top and the capsule stopped it's movements. I looked at both of them incredulously.

"Why has the ride stopped? Isn't the operator going to wait for everyone to board the ride?", I questioned them with a frown, thoughts of brutal murders going on in my mind.

"Jenny don't worry, just look outside the window once-", Ava started.

"Come on! What do you guys think I am? A fool? I've seen this happen in movies . The villain tells the person to look outside the widow and then they push the person out of it and the victim falls to their death!", I cried out.

"Jennifer, do you really think we are going to do that? Don't you trust us even a little bit?", June looked horrified.

I chuckled bitterly,"Wow what a question June ! How am I supposed to trust any of you? You guys completely ignored me, and started believing those stupid rumours-", I started venting my anger but Ava cut me off.

"We never believed those rumours Jennifer! It was never about those rumours. We were also going through a lot when the factory caught fire. My dad lost his job and June lost her dad! Our parents restricted us from meeting each other. We needed time. When any of us tried to reach out to you or even gave you a smile, you ignored us. You started hanging out with Emma. You never thought about us or what we had to go through. It has always been about you.", Ava ranted out, her eyes glistening.

"Ava please stop it, we were going to apologise to her-", June cried, her cheeks and nose a rosy pink as tears rolled down her face.

"No she is right.", I shook my head as the realisation dawned upon me. "It has always been about me. I never thought about how you guys felt and just drowned myself in self pity. I'm sorry guys", 

June started crying and opened her arms, motioning me to hug her. I immediately jumped in and gave her a huge bear hug. Ava gave a watery smile and joined us. 

"Let's make a wish" Ava said.

 I wish for us to be friends forever and for mom to be happy again.

We enjoyed the breathtaking view in front of us. The sky was now a velvety black, with twinkling stars scattered everywhere. We could see the other amusement rides clearly form up here as their lights shone. Something red caught my eye. Heart balloons?

I looked at both of my friends and gave them a questioning look. June shot me a sheepish smile, "Well this was another thing we planned.." I beamed at both of them and gave them another warm hug. 

June bent a bit out of the window and flashed a thumbs up sign indicating that the operator could start the ride

Soon after, everyone was boarded and the ride started, the wheel picked its pace up. We squealed and laughed in glee and enjoyment as butterflies raided our stomachs when the capsule dropped down. 

After the ride ended, we got off and walked together towards the exit hand in hand. My phone started ringing and I looked to see it was mom.

"Hello?"

"Hello sweetie. I wanted to let you know that I've picked Daniel up, so you can come home straight away."

"Okay. How did the meeting go?"

Mom sighed happily, "It went great! The investors agreed to refurbish the town factory. I'm so happy."

I smiled, "That's great mom! I'm proud of you."

"Thanks sweetie, Dave wants to talk to you..", she trailed off. Some rustling sounds were heard, then I heard Dave's voice from the other side. "Hey uh, Jennifer...I wanted to apologise for today morning-"

I immediately cut him off, "No No, I should be the one apologising. I am very sorry for being so rude. You've only tried to support us ever since we lost dad." I looked at my friends and they nodded back encouragingly at me. I gave them a tight lipped smile.

"That's very mature of you Jenny. And I will always love you and Daniel like my own kids.", Dave sounded very happy. I could always imagine him with a content look on his face. Things were finally working out for us. 

As we were walking, we saw Amanda and her posse staring at us with their mouths agape. Emma tried flashing me a smile, but it didn't look genuine. I ignored her and smirked at Amanda's face. I realised, that after all this time, I didn't even think about how Emma had ditched me for Amanda. I just flipped them off and walked away with my friends.

Once we reached the exit, I turned back to look at the Ferris wheel, smiling in content. Helga was right huh.

I learnt to believe in myself.

I'm going out with Jay.

I had my perfect best friends. 

My family is happy again.

What else do I need?
