Chapter Twenty Seven~Space And Power

Of course, good things never last.

That gut feeling I had, about something coming well it did.

Within two weeks our ship was met with another, one that came and destroyed everything. Half the people escaped the others slaughtered, the ship is more than destroyed. Val escaped with them to make sure they would find there way to earth.

Thor was knocked to the ground bloody.

I was bloody as well, my arms held behind my back by what he called Ebony Maw, an alien with neurologic powers. "Hear me, and rejoice. You have had the privilege of being saved by the Great Titan.... You may think this is suffering... no. It is salvation. Universal scales tip toward balance because of your sacrifice. Smile..." says Maw.

I flinch as another alien (Corvus Glaive) stabs one of the lingering Asgardians "for even in death, you have become Children of Thanos." Maw finishes. I flinch and want to look away, he was a monster.

Thanos whoever he was he brought this destruction here.

Loki stands with them. He watches Thanos, shrouded in darkness and light, a vague silhouette. It wasn't his choice, he doesn't know why they're keeping him alive. "I know what it's like to lose. To feel so desperately that you're right... yet to fail, nonetheless." says Thanos who lifts Thor by the neck of his breastplate. Thor struggles feebly. 

"It's frightening. Turns the legs to jelly. I ask you, to what end? Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same. And now, it's here. Or should I say... I am." he finishes.

Thanos holds up his hand to reveal a Gauntlet, which hosts the violet Stone. Wait, that's an Infinity Stone! Did a Stone lead him here? Did I do this? "Shut up!" I shout. Thanos glares at me before turning to Loki.

"The Tesseract, or your their heads." threatens Thanos standing in between me and Thor.

"I assume you have a preference." starts Loki.

"Oh, I do," says Thanos h. The Stone glows brightly. Thor grunts trying to resist, but being human I can't help but scream out in pain. It hurt so much! My head! My brain felt like it was being smashed!

"ALL RIGHT, STOP!" shouts Loki after only a few moments "We don't have the Tesseract." I pant out being able to breath again "It was destroyed on Asgard." finishes Thor. Loki glances at me like he knows something I don't and sighs lifting his right hand into the air and the Tesseract reveals itself.

How did I not see that!?!?!? I guess I wasn't paying attention?!?! Wait! Back in the vault when he was looking at something blue when I turned to grab the skull he must have grabbed the Tesseract.

"You really are the worst brother," says Thor. "I assure you, brother... the sun will shine on us again," says Loki while holding the Tesseract out to Thanos and advancing. Wait but why the Tesseract.

Do they not know I have an Infinity Stone in my blood, they haven't said anything about it. "Your optimism is misplaced, Asgardian," says Thanos.

"Well, for one thing, I'm not Asgardian. And for another... we have a Hulk."

Thanos looks to his right just as a green and very angry mass slams into him. Loki dives for Thor, pulling both of them out of the way as the Tesseract skitters across the floor, and the Hulk charges Thanos. 

Maw steps forward letting go of me, I stand ready to run but not before Glaive and his spear stab through below my left shoulder. I couldn't scream, my mouth just hung open, he pulls his spear out before heading to help Thanos.

Leaving me standing there, I reach a shaky hand up watching the blood gush onto it. Loki after helping Thor stood to go back for me but froze when he saw me "L-Loki..." I start, my legs give out under me and I fall into a pile of rubble.

Loki runs over and lays me down, my whole body was trembling and it was hard to breathe. Loki takes off the cape he was wearing and uses it to put pressure on the wound trying to keep the blood from flowing.

He leans over my scared out of his mind, his other hand holding my face "L-Loki, they don't know." I start, if I was going to die I needed to tell him "They don't know a Stones in me..." I say taking a sharp breath "Don't do that, I won't let you die." states Loki who moves my hand's on top of the fabric "Press down and don't take your hands off, okay?"

The Hulk pummels Thanos, forcing him backwards and shoving him into the wall of the ship. He pries the Hulk's hands away; an expression of surprise and fear crosses his green face. After several hard blows, Thanos picks up the Hulk and slams him to the deck, defeated. Thor slams a metal bar across Thanos' back to no avail, is kicked across the deck by Thanos and is promptly bound in metal debris by Ebony Maw to keep him from interfering further.

Maw kneels before Thanos, offering up the Tesseract "My humble personage... bows before your grandeur. No other being has ever had the might, nay the nobility, to wield not one, but two Infinity Stones. The universe lies within your grasp."

Thanos crushes the Tesseract, revealing the blue Space Stone. He blows some of the fractals away, fingering the Stone between his thumb and index, before placing it on the gauntlet, and is momentarily rocked by the surge of energy that pulses as the stone seats in its setting.

"There are three more Stones on Earth. Find them, my children, and bring them to me on Titan," says Thanos

"Father, we will not fail you." says the alien girl who was Midnight.

Loki looks at me "You trust me?" I nod "If I might interject... if you're going to Earth, you might want a guide. I do have a bit of experience in that arena." says Loki standing up and walking towards them.

"If you consider failure experience," says Thanos unimpressed.

"I consider experience, experience. Almighty Thanos, I... Loki... Prince of Asgard...Odinson... the rightful King of Jotunheim... God of Mischief... do hereby pledge to you, my undying fidelity." says Loki, I squint and notices a dagger materialize in Loki's hand. What was he thinking!

Loki braces himself, thrusts upward with lightning speed and attempts to stab Thanos, but is frozen in place by the Space Stone's power before the point could strike home. "Undying?" You should choose your words more carefully." says Thanos.

Thanos twists the dagger out of Loki's hand with his right hand, then takes hold of Loki's neck with the gauntlet and lifts him to eye level. Loki struggles, kicking, as his throat is squeezed. "You will... never be... a god." Loki states.

Thanos crushes Loki's collar bones and drops him letting him tumble down next to me. Loki begins gasping for air like me. The two of us look at each other letting our hands slowly reach out and take hold of one anothers.

"I love you." he coaks out.

"I love you too." I gasp.

But then I hear Heimdall's voice "Allfathers... let the dark magic flow through me one last... time."

My body felt light, but my eyes slowly closed and I drifted off knowing the one I love was next to me.
