Chapter 13

(A few hours later)

Sonic was sitting on the ground against Shadow's bed. He gently listened to Shadow's peaceful breaths. Then there was a knock a his door. Sonic got up and answered it. (Sonic is wearing a red shirt and jeans with rips. Shadow was in a grey tank top and black pants)

It was Silver, wearing a light blue hoodie and matching sweat pants. "Hey."

"Hey, come in." Sonic greeted.

Silver entered the room and saw Shadow napping on his bed. "So tell exactly what you did. You said it worked but how well?" He asked sitting on Sonic's bed.

Sonic sighed, not wanting to explain how he made the one he loved breakdown. "I said that I wanted to buy him, called him a skank, that he had no respect for is body, pinned him to the bed, and finally called him an emotionless sex toy."

Silver's eyes widened. "Yep that'll do it. You might have taken it a little too far but you did it Sonic."

Sonic clenched his eyes shut and nodded his head. "Y-You said that we didn't have another choice, so that's what I did."

"You okay?" Silver asked.

Sonic shook his head with his eyes still clenched shut.

"Sonic, I know you didn't want to do that to him, but you and I both know it was the only way. You just said that remember?"

"That's not the reason I'm upset." Sonic said sitting next to Silver.

"Then what's the matter?"

"*sighed* After Shadow started crying after I said those awful things to him, I tried to comfort him. Then he slapped my hand away a-and said t-that...that I was as bad as Scourge. I-It broke my heart to hear him say that." Sonic explained as eyes started welling up.

"But you explained to him why you said those things, he knows you didn't mean it right?" Sonic asked.

"Yes, but-"

"Then he probably said that in the heat of the moment. At that time you were supposed to be Scourge. You have to know that he was sad and angry at the way he was treated. Not over you personally. Now that he knows, he'll leave Scourge, he'll be safe. All because of you." Silver comforted.

Sonic breathed in and out as a single tear left his eye. "Y-you're right. I-I've just known Scourge for a very long time and...he's done so many horrible things. And being compared to him? It just hurt so bad." Sonic explained.

"Sonic, did Scourge...do something to you? Like he did to Shadow?" Silver asked.

"W-What? No, he just hurt so many people I knew and cared deeply for. Sure he bullied me most of my life, but he never touched me like he did to Shadow. But he did touch me in other ways."

"Like what?"

"Like I said, Scourge was bully. He picked on me, hurt my feelings, and trashed my stuff. But mostly found me to beat me up. But one time he went too far and ended up breaking my arm, giving me a concussion, and massive internal bleeding. It led to him getting expelled from our old school. And now he's back hurting the one I've dreamed of having as my boyfriend for years." Sonic explained.

Silver nodded. "So you do have feelings for Shadow."

"Yeah, was it that obvious?" Sonic chuckled.

"It took me a while to figure out but then you just confirmed it. So yes. It was a little obvious." Silver answered.

"Yeah, I've had a crush on him for years. Way before I knew I was even gay. But I know he's not gonna be looking for another boyfriend anytime soon. So..."

"You're probably right. But in time, he'll heal. He learn to love again. And when he's ready, I'm sure you'll be the first to ask him out." Silver smiled.

Sonic smiled back and nodded. "Believe me, I will." He laughed.

"So, should we wake him up? So we can talk about the case file we made." Silver asked.

Sonic nodded and stood up. He walked over to Shadow and gently shook his shoulder.
