Chapter 17

Sonic, Silver, and Shadow started to make their way to the police station. Sonic and Silver made sure that Shadow was between them incase Scourge showed up. After a ten minute walk, they arrived.

Shadow suddenly stopped.

Silver and Sonic turned and faced him. Sonic saw him starting to shake. Sonic gave Silver the case file. "Shadow?" Silver asked.

"I-I can't...I-I can't m-move..." Shadow shakily spoke.

Sonic walked up to him and stopped in front of him. "It's okay to be scared, but you can do this. You are strong and I believe in you Shadow." He spoke.

"S-Sonic I..."

"Would it help if I held your hand? Cause I will, just say the word." Sonic offered.

Shadow blushed and looked down. Then he nodded.

Sonic smiled as he took a hold of Shadow's trembling hand. "I promised you that I'd be right by your side. No matter what. You ready?"

Shadow nodded and Sonic lead the way while he gripped Shadow's hand. Silver smiled at them as they walked by.

(20 minutes later)

The three hedgehogs were in Officer Jackson's office. They were The fox officer was looking over the case file. "You boys have really put a lot into this." He spoke.

"You told me to get evidence and I did." Sonic spoke.

"Good work, this is a start. But with only this, we can't charge him. Do you have anything else?" The Officer asked.

"Yes, I have an audio recording of Scourge abusing him and Shadow is here to give his victim statement." Sonic answered and pulled out his phone. He pulled up the video and gave it to Officer Jackson.

Jackson took the phone and was about to press play.

"Don't press play, Shadow is-"

"It's fine...." Shadow finally spoke.

"But if you aren't comfortable with him playing it then-"

"Whatever it takes to put him away. For he can't do this to another person." Shadow interrupted Sonic.

Officer Jackson pressed play. The audio played Scourge's lust filled voice and his aggression towards Shadow.

Shadow's eyes began to water once he heard his own fear in his voice. He felt Sonic give his hand a squeeze. Shadow looked at him and wiped away his tears.

After a few minutes, the audio stopped.

"Now I have to download this on to a flash drive for our own records." Jackson plugged Sonic's phone into his computer and began a download. "While this downloads, let's record your statement."

Shadow nodded as he gripped Sonic's hand tighter. "Okay, What do I do?"

Jackson opened a drawer and pulled out a recording machine. "Once I press the record button explain the night of the assault and list the events of the abuse. If you want, I can ask your friends to leave."

"No, I want them to stay." Shadow stated.

"Alright, just say 'go' and I'll press the button." Jackson instructed.

Shadow took a deep breath and deeply breathed out. "Go."

Jackson pressed the button.

"I was taken to Scourge's frat back to school bash. About a few hours in, Scourge gave me a drink and I felt a wave of heat coursing through my body. After that, he had this smirk on his face. He began to touch me my private area and bite my neck. Then he drag me into his room in the frat house. He began to take off his clothes and rip off mine. I told him...multiple times even before this had happened...that I wasn't ready for sex or anything sexual. So I told him no...multiple times....b-but he did listen. I started begging him, I was crying...I was scared...*tears up*...I had no say in what happen to me...He forced himself inside my body....I was screaming in pain and continued to beg him to stop but he stuffed my own underwear into my mouth to shut me up...he even slapped me in the face when I tried to resist...after he was done with me, he told me he made love to me. He said that's how you showed loved to your partner...A-And I believed him. I-I thought I was in love. But the morning after I felt...used and tainted...I met with him later that day and I accused him of raping me...he pinned me up against a wall and told me it wasn't rape...it was love...then he gave me forced oral. Even after being told I was being abused and assaulted. I didn't listen. In the last few weeks, I've experience more and more abuse to my body and mind. I've been beaten, raped, forced to give oral sex, and forced to remove my clothes to please him...A part of me was too in love to see the pain he put me through. So I went along with it. But after being sat down and talked to by the only two people that were kind and patient enough to put up with my stupid and naive self...*tears fell*..I realized that it wasn't love...*sniff* it was abuse. Our relationship was toxic from the start. N-No one should have to go through that...I even thought I could change him and make him stop his ways...but people like that...never change and you have to leave while you still can." Shadow nodded to Officer Jackson and he stopped the recording.

"Thank you for giving us this statement. With all this new evidence, I can assure you all that Scourge will be expelled immediately and charged with sexual assault. He will be locked up for a long time." The Officer spoke.

Shadow gave a slight nodded as tears flowed from his face.

Sonic gripped Shadow's hand once more. And Silver extended is hand to Shadow's back and comforted him.

The silence was broken by Shadow's phone giving him a notification. He pulled out his phone and checked it. He let out a scared gasp. "It's Scourge, he's demanding to know where I am..." he spoke filled with fear.

"Don't worry, we'll keep you safe." Sonic spoke.

"If he is asking for you, then I have an idea about how my team can arrest him. But I need verbal consent to execute it."  The officer offered.

Sonic and Silver looked at Shadow.

"What do we have to do?" Shadow asked.
