"Oath and Plea" - short monologue

I ask not that of good men to fight thy battles of the world, but of good people to come together and step forth.

I ask not that you risk your lives against that which is unknown, but that you lend your hearts to lift thy spirits soar.

And I ask not that all hopes be vanished, but only that our fears be softened and bearable in these times of darkness.

Please, please in ever-loving dreams, come and save this place. Or at the most, save us all from it.
