Chapter 25: Awaken

Beast Boy's eyes flutters open, he was standing on the rock. The same rock he sat when Terra left him for the first time, now it became his thinking rock, but the thing is... It doesn't feel like his rock anymore.

Instead of water splashing against the shoreline, its molten lava, and the city beyond the lava sea is crushed and burned. Covered in shadow, Beast Boy's eyes widen and slowly turn his back to the city and looks up to his home.

Beast Boy stumbles backward with his mouth open to make a sound, but nothing came out. The Titans tower, known as his home, is covered with flames. Three-quarters of the Tower is gone, leaving bits of pieces.

Only thing that finally registers his mind after his death, "Am I in hell?" Beast Boy voices out against the silence.

"No."

Beast Boy flinches at the unexpected voice and turns around frantically, trying to find the source.

"Who said that?"

"I did."

Beast Boy turns toward the Tower again, finding a girl in white at the bottom of the Tower with roaring fire behind her.

"Who are you?"

The girl in white walks closer to Beast Boy, he takes in her features: Her skin is white as snow; her eyes are striking midnight blue, and her long flowing pitch black hair that stops at her hips. Beast Boy is speechless.

Finally, the girl answers his question, "Who I am is not important right now."

Beast Boy struggles to find his voice, clearing his throat, "Uh, o-ok. Um... You said that I am not in hell, r-right?"

The girl gives Beast Boy a ghost smile that reminds Beast Boy of someone, "Yes, that's right."

Beast Boy takes a deep breath and sighs, "Then where am I?" pointing the flaming tower and the lava sea with a crushed city at the end.

"Everywhere and nowhere" The girl responds and continuing as if she read his mind, "And no, you aren't dead."

"Wh-WHAT?" Beast Boy exclaims, "How am I not dead?!"

"Your friend healed you."

"Raven? How? I blocked her powers out, she couldn't do anything!"

"She had discovered new ability to her healing power."

"What kind of ability?"

"The ability to bring a dead back into the living"

Beast Boy looks onto the ground, "So I was dead..."

The girl looks at Beast Boy who seems interested with the ground beneath his feet, "Yes, you were dead only for two minutes."

Beast Boy chuckles with no humor in his voice, "Why can't I die?"

Beast Boy brings his head to look at the girl who just smiles her ghost smile and shrugs, "It was your fifth time to cheat the death, so I assume that it is not your time yet."

Beast Boy shakes his head and chuckles, "Five times, that's whole new record." Beast Boy turns toward to the girl, "When is my time to go?"

"That would be if you stop cheating."
