Chapter 28:Knock, knock

Beast Boy sighs, wiping his tears out, standing up and walks to the door, casting one last look toward the mirror.That Beast Boy never was real; it was only his mask to hide his true self.A realization hits him.The mask is finally broken.

Beast Boy slowly walks out of his room, closing the door behind him, and takes a moment to stare at his name carved on the door.He sighs and turns to walk down the hall, stopping at the room closest to his, which isn't very close. Beast Boy carefully traces the name carved on the wall, "Raven..." He whispers before pressing his ear on the door."Azarath Metrion Zinthos..."Beast Boy smiles weakly, pushing himself off the door and debating whether to knock or not. He knew that she wouldn't answer, but...'What have I got to lose?' Beast Boy thought as bringing his hand to knock, "Hey Rae? It's me again..."After a week of trapping in the Med-Bay, he got the chance having Raven's presence in the same room, by force of course, but the next two weeks, he haven't gotten a glimpse of her. Basically, he has been knocking on her door every day for the last two weeks and he wasn't about to give up yet."Why do you always annoy me?" Raven growls at dazed Beast Boy lying on the ground after being lashed out by Raven's power, who replies with goofy grin, "'Cause it's my job Rae."Beast Boy chuckles sadly at the memory.Of course, he got no response except a quiet chant from inside."Azarath Metrion Zinthos..."Beast Boy leans his head on the cold door, "Rae, I mean Raven, listen..." Beast Boy sighs before he continues, "I know you are mad at me, I am sorry, I truly am..."No response, like usual.Beast Boy sighs, 'I hurt her like Malchior did...' He cringed at that thought, 'I messed up everything'Beast Boy whispers, "Bye Raven, I hope you find someone that you deserve... Somebody great." Beast Boy smiles weakly at the engraved door, "Until we meet again."Raven is mediating in her room with the candles surrounding her, chanting her mantra."Azarath Metrion Zinthos..."She steals a glance at her clock, 2:59PM, knowing that Beast Boy will knock on her door in a minute.For a past two weeks, Beast Boy has been knocking at her door at the exact three o'clock. Raven finds this odd, 'Is he doing this on purpose or what?'Knock, knockRaven glances at the clock once again, right on time."Hey Rae? It's me again..."Raven ignores and continues her mantra, listening his apology"Rae, I mean Raven, listen..." A sigh.It took everything Raven had to not respond back."I know you are mad at me, I am sorry, I truly am..."Raven's eyes fills with tears, holding back until she is sure that he had left. Her ears caught a whisper behind her thick door, but she couldn't make out what he was saying.'Maybe he was just talking to himself?' Raven thought. She caught four words, "...Until we meet again."Raven was puzzled, and she heard a quiet footstep slowly leaving.'Until we meet again? Is that a goodbye?' Raven wonders, 'Beast Boy wouldn't leave the team, would he?"Beast Boy walks into the common room in hopes that someone will change his mind.Cyborg is in the kitchen, making meat lovers' sandwich. He didn't even glance to greet his green best friend. Beast Boy quietly walks pass the kitchen and spots Robin and Starfire sitting at the dining table. They seem to be in a serious discussion that quiets down when Robin meets Beast Boy's eyes. Starfire turns; her eyes widen in fear and quickly turn back to Robin. Robin covers Starfire's hands with his and whispers to her.Beast Boy could feel tears filling up his eyes as he walks to the window. Beast Boy is able to see the bay and the city.His decision is finally made.
