She walked into Joon's office alone and shut the door behind her, closing the privacy blinds. He looked up from his phone call and just shook his head at her.
She wandered to the sofa and sat to wait. She felt waves of loss and disappointment roll over her as she looked around.
Every trace of her had been removed. She wondered where her things had gone, the plants Jin had sent her...
She forced herself to focus on the present. Hobi would have taken care of her things.
She leaned back on the sofa as Joon's secretary came in with a tray of food and drinks.
Dae smiled at her and said, “Thank you so much. Please see that we are not disturbed after this….for any reason.”
She was new and had no idea who Dae was. She threw a worried glance at NamJoon, questioning the command.
Joon got one good look at his sister’s face and nodded in resignation, motioning for the girl to leave them.
He knew there would be no rest until Dae said her piece. And truth be told, he was weary of all of this.
He needed Dae's experience and advice right now. Hell, he needed a friend right now.
Dae watched Joon listen to the caller, anger and frustration filtering across his face. The few times he tried to speak he was quickly drowned out by the voice on the other line.
Dae met her brother's eyes and saw how worn down he had become; how weary he was.
She finally went to sit at the chair in front of him and reached for his hand curled up in a fist on the edge of the desk.
“I am here to help you,” she whispered.
Seeing the truth and trust in her eyes, he allowed her to sooth his hand out of the fist, giving her small hands a squeeze in return. When had his little sister turned into this fierce woman.
Dae saw the moment NamJoon gave up fighting the battle alone and decided to trust her.
She batted away the worry this truce would not last as he heard her request, but for now they were united.
Joon reached and placed the caller on speaker phone. She immediately recognized the voice as the chairman of the board of directors.
She felt her anger build as she realized the man was misquoting figures, trying to force NamJoon into making a decision.
She hastily scrawled a note and passed it to her brother. He nodded and responded with that information.
After a few more written comments Dae could tell that NamJoon had picked up on the lies and was now in control of the conversation. She sat back and closely followed.
Seeing he had lost his advantage, the chairman demanded a meeting, insisting the issue of purchasing KimCom be put to a vote.
If NamJoon refused, he implied he would bring a vote to remove him from his position.
