Two days later YoonGi sat in his office trying to decide how this was going to work.
As he sat at his desk his secretary came in with papers for him to sign.
He watched her as she crossed to him, absorbed in her work. She passed through shafts of sunlight streaming from the tall windows, the light throwing her silhouette in sharp relief for a moment. YoonGi forced himself to look away. He had no right to look at her like that.
She looked up and caught his face before he turned away. He cursed to himself.
"This will never work " he thought. She will be able to tell something is going on. Plus, she just caught me staring at her - again."
“What?” she asked, turning around in the sunlight, checking her skirt, her heels “What is wrong?”
YoonGi bit back a groan. Did she know that silk blouse was almost transparent in the sun? He shook that thought away. She was much too proper for that.
“Nothing is wrong!” he said harshly, “and get over here and stop flitting around like that. You are giving me a headache.”
She turned to him and frowned, placing the files firmly on his desk.
“I was not “flitting", you were staring, and the headache is mutual! Sign these…..please.” she responded turning to leave.
Damn it! She never missed a thing.
Maybe she was mad enough to allow him to slip his part in “the plan" past her.
“Thank you, Miriam. Please bring me the file with Kim SongDae's latest paperwork. And go ahead and take a long lunch.” He told her.
She brought the file to him immediately and left, dreaming of a leisurely lunch, wondering what on earth he was doing to cause that guilty look on his face.
“Don’t be late,” he told her, not looking up from the document he was reading.
“Yes sir!” she responded, causing his pulse to jump.
Pausing at the door, she called over her shoulder, “and yes, YoonGi, I will be careful.”
Left alone, he cursed. She knew exactly what he meant, even when he didn’t say it.
Shaking those thoughts away, he called Jin.
“SeokJin! I have some papers for you to review. When can you come to the office?” he asked.
Jin was frustrated with work already and this interruption just made him angrier.
“Drop by here with it. Why do I have to come to your office?” Jin asked. The questions continued until YoonGi was ready to ditch the whole deal.
“Enough of this, “he finally told Jin, “just shut up and tell me when you will be here. I'll have good whiskey and food for you." Finally, Jin agreed to meet him.
