Dae took a deep breath.
This was it. This was her chance and she was taking it.
She stood and smoothed her skirt, buying a few more minutes to get this perfect.
“First, I am moving back home,” she started. Jin felt a huge weight lift from his shoulders.
“Second, I am exercising my option to take the cash for my share of stocks.” She noted her father’s frown. She would bet he was thinking she would waste the money on something foolish.
“What are you planning to do with it?” her father asked. Somethings never change.
Her answer shocked everyone in the room, although it truly should not have.
“I will take those funds and start my own design firm.” She answered.
It took only seconds for that information to register for Jin.
“Come work with me,” he blurted.
Joon almost simultaneously said “you will work for me.”
She smiled at both of them and nodded at YoonGi, who passed both of them a document.
“I have a priority client in France already. I had hoped one, or both of you, would be interested in my services. I have prepared a proposal for you to review. Please, take your time. I am open for reasonable discussion on the terms,” she finished, sitting down before her shaky legs betrayed her.
“Holy Shit!! I might just pull this off, “she thought.
An encouraging wink from Jimin and the flash of the victory sign from Tae gave her strength.
She watched as both men quietly read the proposal. NamJoon was passing each page to their father as he finished reading them.
Jin was seated at the table, quickly marking up the document.
Dae frowned. She had been very conservative in what she had asked. What could Jin be crossing out and writing in? Her confidence began to falter.
Jin looked at the changes he had made on the document. He was a bit reckless, he knew, but all he wanted right now was Dae in his arms. He was growing impatient to the point he no longer cared they had an audience, her father having a front row seat.
He scrawled his name on the paper and stalked to Dae, slapping it on the table before her, then retreating to the bank of windows overlooking a glorious sunset.
She was startled at his aggression, then catching his eyes she recognized the need burning there. She felt that same pull, the need, the want to discuss all this much, much later.
She looked down at the document and blinked, then again.
Jin had crossed out the compensation she had requested and written double the amount in its place. He had penned in all the perks, including a company car, expense and wardrobe account. She stopped reading there for a moment.
