Jin had divided the evening between watching his friends freely spend his money and texting his home staff instructions about tonight.

He was trying so hard not to have any expectations.

They had so much to discuss.  He grew nervous at the thought.  Where would they even start.  He shook the thought away.

It did not matter to him. They could sit in silence until the sun rose and he would be content to be next to her.

As he watched his friends order caviar, steak and lobster he texted his housekeeper to have ready simple food they could eat later in the evening.

As they argued over brands of whiskey and vintages of champagne Jin made sure the staff had his favorite champagne chilled and that the fridge was stocked with Dae's favorite soft drinks.

The flowers had been delivered.  He added details as they occurred to him.

By 7:30 he could no longer wait.

He slipped away unnoticed after paying the exorbitant bill and headed straight to his house to shower and wait for Dae.  He remembered being this nervous the first time he had her over.

After Dae texted to say she was on her way, Jin slowly climbed the steps to the roof to make sure everything was perfect.

The rooftop had become his favorite place after the nights spent there with Dae.

He had worked and built and added on little touches over the months trying to create the perfect haven for them.

Many times over the past several months he had contemplated destroying it all.  It had been too painful to see the garden corner and the bench where she had loved him.

Despite his fears and worries about their future, he continued to add to “Dae's corner”. Some days it was the only place he could find hope or peace.

Tonight, he was excited to show her what he had built for her. He fussed with the details and lit candles and a small fire in case she was cold.  He drew a deep breath trying to steady himself as he waited.

Dae dismissed her driver and hurried to Jin's front door.  She was surprised as the housekeeper greeted her.

“I'll take your things and put them upstairs,” the housekeeper offered.

The small woman continued with her instructions as Dae slipped out of her coat and shoes.

“Mr. Kim is waiting for you,” she explained.

Dae's heart raced even faster, she instinctively knew he would join her on the roof.

“I will put your things away and set the alarms as I leave.  The staff has been dismissed for the evening.  Please enjoy your evening,” she said, bowing and walking away.
