He just...called me his girlfriend? did I hear that right? I must have. Perri looks at me, I look back, shocked. it's a bit soon, and after tomorrow I won't ever see him again. I can't let myself given into his charm, and agree to be his girlfriend. Yet.
"Perri" I say to him awkwardly, suddenly really conscious of Ashley being here and hearing our conversation.
"clearly you two haven't sorted this out yet, so im going to leave you to sort this out" Ashley tells us, closing the door as he leaves.
"Perri" I say again, when I know that Ashley's definitely out of earshot.
"I didn't want to put a label on us yet, but I felt pressured from Ashley being there to make us sound like something" he mumbles. so he didn't mean it as such. I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.
"I get that, but isn't it too soon?" I ask him
"Well we could confirm things or we could just see how it goes" Perri says to me, with more confidence than usual.
"Perri. Listen. Tomorrow you go onto the next place for your tour, which means I'll never see you again. if we're never going to see each other after today then what's the point in saying that we're boyfriend and girlfriend? there's no point. You'll move on, you'll find someone else. And I'll be left with no one. You'll have gone, Brooke won't speak to me. I got too attached, Pel. I shouldn't have let this happen. I shouldn't have led you on. Obviously I do like you, but you'll find someone new soon enough and I'll be no one again. it's all my fault" I let all my emotions out.
"Lex, It's definitely far from your fault. Yes im leaving but we can stay in contact and hang out again when tours finished. we shouldn't have let it happen, I agree, but im glad it did. We'll find a way, i promise" Even Perri is crying now.
"There isn't a way to make this work," I tell him, sobbing. I resist the urge to go to him and comfort him, make him feel okay. it will only make things even worse. I can't even look at him
"Come with me. On tour. Come with me" Perri says.
