Olivia's P.O.V
By LiveLaughLoveForLife
The dark sky was beautiful as it began to come upon us. I sighed with satisfaction. Today had been a good day, which for me was rare. "Olivia!" My mom called out as I began to watch the sun sink into the sea. I turned away from the beautiful sight for a second then I looked up at my house. My house by the sea. My white house by the sea.
I stood up off the large boulder I had let my bum rest on. I just stood there in silence for a moment not answering my mother just looking at her. She was so pretty. High school Leader of the cheer squad, Delta Zeta member, Trophy Wife, yet there was so much more. The only problem with her was she couldn't have a baby. All I know is, I'm not her's. I belong to someone else.
"Olivia, dinner now!" She screamed, a hair rising scream. She was prefect, I was not. My perfect mother 'Rose' and her husband 'Tony' bought me, I am adopted. End of story. I rolled my eyes as I marched up the beach onto the grass. My mother saw me then she walked inside, leaving me to myself and my thoughts.
I am going to miss my school. Even though I didn't have a lot of friends. Some of the people were nice to me. The International school was lovely and I was going to miss it so. I don't want to go to Canada, I like South Africa. It's nice. The beach (even though I don't really swim), the downtown (even though I don't really go down there), and the library. Oh I loved the library.
"Olivia hurry up!" My mother yelled again. I might as well hurry. I better dad brought home a wonderful dinner...not. My dad is a business, a sucky one too. I walked in from the cool air into the toasty house. I walked through the hall letting my eyes look about. I am going to miss this house. The walls had thick blue painted oak, and white wood floors. Reminds me of our first house in California. I walked into the kitchen. It was intoxicated with the smell of burnt something.
"What did you burn this time, mom?" I asked as I sat down at the small yellow table we had. It didn't even match the aqua colored kitchen. My mom was big on sea side colors. It didn't really fancy them that much. "Oh shut it Olivia." She hissed as she brought a large plate to the table. With that my father walked in. He was an okay father. He didn't really care, and when he did it was at the wrong time.
"Hey Olivia, hey dear." He said as she sat down next to me at the dinner table, setting down his briefcase all the while. "So tonight's the big night." He said as he smiled at me, though I could tell in the back of his mind he was wishing that he had never gotten married to my mom. He has been cheating on her with some slut that also just so happened to be my teacher, Ms. Henze. What a figure...
"Yah actually in about 10 minutes a car should be here to take me to the airport." I muttered as my mom handed me a plate of soup, I think. I didn't really want to eat it. It might make me sick. "Umm, I'm going to go get my stuff." I said as I got out of my chair. They both nodded. I got out of the kitchen then I ran up stairs to my room.
I liked my room, I really did. I'm going to miss it. My bags were all nicely and neatly stacked onto my small bed. I groaned as I sat on my chair that was in the far corner of my room. I looked out the window for a second, looking at the shore. Then I turned away from it. I looked at my room. There were still billions of dancing pictures all around. I love to dance. I just love it. I used to dance and ice skate, and all those very graceful sports but that was a long time ago.
"Olivia they are here!" My father called up. I looked around startled for a second. I had been daydreaming about dancing. Me dancing. I shook my head and headed out. I ran into the bathroom and put in my contacts quickly, I don't like wearing them even though it's really hard to see. But not before grabbing my stuff and my iPod. I marched down the stairs and outside into the starting night. The driver of the car took my stuff as I waved my parent's goodbye....and good riddance! I jumped into the back of the car all the while plugging in my ear phones. I might never be that popular girl, I might forever stay the nerd I am but at least I don't have to come home to a cheating father and a trophy wife no love mother. Now I can just be me.
