You ever move somewhere and have to start to have a feeling no one is going to like you? That's how I feel right now while I sit staring at the school from outside in the car.
"Harley you will be ok" Aunt Hail says rubbing my shoulder.
I nod my head and open the car door.
"Thanks Aunt Hail!" I yell waving my hand walking to the open doors.
People turn there head and look at me. I just put my head down. I don't really like people looking at me. I feel my face heat up as people continue to look at me.
I tuck my hair behind my ear. Maybe something was in my face. Or was it because the story already went around?
I see a foot go in front of me. I tried to stop walking but I noticed it to late. I feel on my stomach and I almost hit my head on the floor. But instead of me hitting my head I fall on my cheek.
Everyone around me laughs. I squint my eyes while I sit up. I needed some time to adjust from the burning from my cheek.
"Oh..um sorry. Next time don't trip over my foot sweetheart" The girl who tripped me said.
I look up at her. She rolls her eyes and struts away.
Everybody is still looking at me. No one knew my story I don't think?"Hey let me help" A girl behind me says offering a hand for me to grab.
"If your another person to trip me just do it already" I roll my eyes and get up myself.
"Oh no..I'm Jennifer. I wanted to help you" She says smiling at me.
I look at her like she's crazy. I mean who would want to talk to me? Certainly not her.
"Hey your the new girl right?" She ask pointing at me with a questionable look on her face.
"Um..yeah I am" I say shrugging my shoulders while I keep my head down.
"Well I think you need a friend by your side and I am happy to be that friend" She says putting her arm around me laughing.
"Your not much of a talker are you?" She asks me putting her arm to the side.
"Sorry" I say creasing my eyebrows.
Truth be told since my parents died I haven't really talked to anyone. I'm still in pain but now I have to go to freaking school!
"I'm Harley" I say nodding my head.
"Nice to meet you Harley" she says walking away waving her hand.
She nice. But I still can't trust her. I can't trust anyone.
As I stare down the hallway someone hits my back. It's the first day of school and I have already fallen two times.
"Oh my bad" The guy says standing over me.
"It's fine" I say in a low voice and not to look him in the eyes.
But I notice he has crunches. I wonder what happened?
"Sorry again for the fall" He says walking away.
When he finally leaves I look up and am not so tense. I look at the back of his head. He's tall. Probably six foot. He has brown hair that I can tell is longer in the front but is shorter in the back.
He turns down the hallway so he's out of my view. I smile to myself. Why am I smiling?
I just bumped into him.
