"Babe come down here!" Kason yells from downstairs.
"Coming!" I yell back at him from our bedroom.
We moved in together five months back into our relationship. But we knew each other for six years...kinda.
"What did you want-?" I stop dead in my track when I see the table set for dinner and candles.
It puts a smile to my face and then I look at him. He comes closer and puts his hand out.
"May I have this dance?" He asks pulling me closer.
"I'm not ready for a dinner I'm in sweatpants and a T-shirt." I say laughing and rolling my eyes.
"Yeah but to be honest that's my shirt and sweatpants." He says into my ear making my whole body shiver.
"Fine" I say putting my arms around his neck.
The song plays through the house. It starts off slow.
Here I am waking up, still can't sleep on your side
There's your coffee cup, the lipstick stain fades with time
If I can't dream long enough, you'd tell me I'll be just fine
I'll be just fineI sway my hips slowly to the left and right with Kason's hands still there.
So I drown it out like I always do
Dancing through our house with the ghost of you
And I'll chase it down, with a shot of truth
Dancing through our house with the ghost of youCleaning up today, I found that old Zeppelin shirt
You wore when you ran away, and no one could fill your hurt
We're too young, too dumb, to know things like love
But I know better now, better nowSo I drown it out like I always do
Dancing through our house with the ghost of you
And I chase it down, with a shot of truth
Dancing through our house with the ghost of youI lean my head on Kason's chest. This song was perfect for us.
Too young, too dumb
To know things like love
Too young, too dumbSo I'll drown it out like I always do
Dancing through our house with the ghost of you
And I chase it down, with a shot of truth
Then my feet don't dance, like they did with you. Then the song ends making me look up at Kason.
"That's our new favorite song" he says looking at me.
"It'll remind us of the moment when we fell in love or the story of it" he says nodding his head.
"I love you" I say putting my hand on his cheek.
"I love you too" he says tightening his grip on my waist.
His soft lips meet mine and it feels like magic. We were magic.
And that's how our story ends.
