The news went around. It went around fast. If you don't know what I'm talking it's about Kason father in jail. I didn't spread it though. Someone knew.
I was scared to see his reaction. Like really scared. I haven't even seen him all day. He probably thinks I told everyone. Shit.
I was walking to his house when I saw a moving truck in front of the house. He's moving? Why didn't he tell me?
I see his mom walk with two boxes in her arms. I was standing on the front lawn of the house. I couldn't believe he wouldn't tell me? Another lie.
"Oh..um where is Kason?" I ask walking to the truck where his mother is.
She saw me and smiled. She looked...happy?
"You must be Harley he talks about you all the time!" She says rolling her eyes.
"But he's upstairs packing up his room." She says pointing to the upstairs window.
"Do you mind if I ask are you moving?" I ask crossing my arms.
"Yes we are..we're leaving for five months...he didn't tell you?" She says creasing her eyebrows.
"Oh...no he told me just I didn't know how long you guys would be gone." I lie uncrossing my arms.
"It was nice to meet you." I say waving to her walking up the stairs.
"Yeah you too!" She says getting in the truck putting the boxes down.
I get into the house to see Kason in the kitchen making cereal. He sees me and rolls his eyes. Well someone definitely thinks I did it.
"What do you want Harley?" He asks putting a mouth full of cereal in his mouth.
"Why didn't you tell me..you were moving?" I ask pulling the strap of my book bag.
"Yeah and why did you spread the rumors about my father Harley?" He asks putting the cereal down.
"I didn't spread the rumors Kason." I say taking my book bag off.
"I thought I could trust you?" He say shrugging shoulders.
"Kason I didn't...I would never your my boyfriend." I say walking towards him.
"Ex-boyfriend...I'm your ex-boyfriend Harley." He says looking down at the floor.
"Right..ex- boyfriend so your just going to go without even saying goodbye?" I ask turning to him while he was walking away.
"Harley I never said hello" he says walking away.
He left me here standing tears in my eyes. Just standing there.
Maybe I guess we were never friends? But to be honest I feel even more broken and I don't know how I can handle it.
