Stupid War (BTS Story)

11. A place called home

Kai squats. She is exhausted. Hunting a game is never easy stuff. Add a crazy member (Jin) who always took home wounded creatures. More mouth to feed.

"Hey, you okay?" ask V worriedly.

"I'm fine."

"You always said that. You could rely on me for once. Ask help from the others."

Kai snorts.

She asks, "A bunch of weaklings. What could they do to help me?"

V counts with his fingers, "One, Aimee sewed my pants when I ripped it yesterday. Two, RM saved me when I couldn't drag my game home. Three, Jimin made me a new spear when the old one got broken."

"Jin did nothing."

"He is our doctor. He also collects herbs and fruits from the forest. Everyone did their shares. Kai, you can't be a single fighter. We are a team."

Kai is silent. V is right. She just hates to depend on others. Made her feel weak.

She only shrugs her shoulders.

"I'm used to be lone warrior. You won't be hurt if you're alone. In the end, everyone would just leave or die."

V raises an eyebrow.

He asks, "How old are you? Five?"

Kai pulls her sword instantly.

She asks, "Are you insulting me?"

V shakes his head.

He says, "In the end, people always leave or die. That made the memories precious."

Kai puts her sword back into it's sheath. She just walks away. Totally ignoring him mode. V smiles weakly. The girl knows he is right. She is being stubborn as usual.

She sees someone ahead of her.

Suga, the egg guy. He keeps on walking to the North.

Suddenly a bear monster ambushes him. Suga avoids it easily. He got no weapon so he just avoids the beast.

Kai draws her blade and tries to kill it. She got too careless and the beast clawed her. The sword falls from her hand.

V dashes to help her but Suga is quicker. He grabs her blade mid air and kills the monster by slashing it's head. One clean strike. Fast and deadly.

Suga is holding the blade when he is walking away.

Kai says weakly, "Thief..."

"She got boobs. I kept forgetting she is a girl," comments V.

Kai covers her breast. The claws have shredded her shirt and wounded her.

"Don't look..."

V takes off his shirt and puts it on her.

He complaints, "You aren't RM. Don't be so reckless next time."

"Don't need..."

Kai has fainted.

"Bad habit, girl. Why I have to carry you home again? We are far from J-HOPE's house."

V carries her home despite all his complaints.

No one is at home when they returned. V puts down Kai on her bed. He scratches his head before he goes to grab first aid kits.

"No choice. I got to do this..."

He uses alcohol to clean her wound.

"Fine nice asset, Kai. Damn! She's going to kill me for this..."
