19. Romance?

Aimee looks around. A small and tidy Villa. It looks the same from other similar Villas in the neighborhood. She got pushed into it.

The interior seems plain. Only bare necessities. A wardrobe. A desk and two chairs. A simple bed. Nothing else. Nothing personal like paintings or other collections.

Jin lived here? After he left us? Why did he leave? Kai said Jimin murdered him. That man is Jin. It has to be him.

"You have arrived," says a man when he crosses the door threshold.

Jin closes the door behind him. He approaches her. Aimee takes a step back.

What am I doing? This is Jin. He won't hurt me.

She closes her eyes when Jin touches her cheeks. Her face reddened. Jin never touches her like this. It feels too intimate.

"Who are you?" asks Jin.

She opens her eyes.

Jin takes a step backward from her. He scratches his head.

"I feel like I've known you before."

That's all he said.

Aimee asks, "You don't remember me? How about RM and V?"

"Who are they?"

"Jin, you grew up with us. RM, V and I."

Jin shakes his head.

"I don't remember my past. When I woke up here, I..."

Jin holds his head. It hurts too much to remember anything. So he just tries not to think about it.

Aimee touches his head and Jin takes a step backwards.

Jin warns, "Don't get too close to me. You are just a maid here. Your task is laundry and house cleaning. I usually eat outside. You don't need to cook for me."

Aimee looks hurts.

"You really don't remember me?" asks her again.

"I have to go. Do your chores."

Jin has left the house.

Maybe taking her home was a big mistake. My head hurts too much when I see her.

He keeps on walking until he reaches dock area.

He yells, "Kore! Are you here?"

A small baby whale swims to the surface.

They said Kore saved me.

The baby whale is called Whalien52. It's a failed lab project. It's mute. It couldn't communicate with other whales. It's destined to be lonely forever in the vast ocean.

Jin doesn't remember anything. They said Kore brought him to this city. At the brink of death.

Whalien52 sounds too cold. Jin gave him a new name, Kore. In this city, the whale is his only friend.

Jin sits down on the beach.

He says, "Kore. I met a girl."

The whale spurts water from the hole on his top.

"No, not like that. She looks so sad when she saw me. I kept feeling she's special to me. I just couldn't remember her. That's all."

More water spurts from him. Jin got wet.

"Hey! I'm telling you, not like that! She isn't my girlfriend..."

Jin rubs his head.

She does feel different from other women I met in this city.
