Percy has always had nightmares.

I mean, come on. He was a demigod, of course he's had nightmares.

Sometimes they would be related to his quests, sometimes to Camp and sometimes they would be about his family.

He knew how to deal with them by now. He had nightmares so frequently it was easy as heck to turn them into a dreamless sleep.

He had dealt with worse.

So when he fell asleep and monsters started appearing out of the blue, he was unimpressed.

The same old nightmare he's had ever since he was 13: Camp Half-Blood was been attacked by massive hordes of repulsive one-eyed monsters.

Percy knew he had Riptide in his left pocket bit he wasn't going to draw it out. He could just move on and continue sleeping.

Yeah, he was just about to do that when he heard it.

"PERCY!!!"

He froze in the spot.

"PERCY! HELP ME!"

Now that was new. He turned his head to where the voice was coming from.

Never, in any other nightmare he's had, had he pictured Annabeth.

Of course he had dreamt about her before: about a life together. About everything they've been through, about New Rome and about forming a family with her.

Those were his favorite dreams.

But this, this was a nightmare, and Annabeth had never been in any of his nightmares before.

He was not scared, at least not yet. He was just... Curious.

So Percy followed the voice through the woods. He started running once he heard it further from were he was.

Percy ran and ran for what it seemed like forever until he was sure he wouldn't find her.

"PERCY! HELP ME!"

He turned his head in all directions. Eyes scanning the area frantically.

'Where is she?!'

'Come on Perce, this is just another dream, nothing is real.' He told himself.

"PERCY! PLEASE HELP ME!!!"

Now he was starting to panic. Her screams were horrifying, like as if someone was torturing her, and the idea alone of someone hurting HIS Wise Girl was enough to, yes, make his blood boil with anger, but also to paralyze him.

"STOP! NO!"

That one sounded way more desperate. But it was peculiar... Like... As if it was coming from... The ground.

That's when Percy noticed, for the first time, the huge hole in the ground in front of him.

And the strangest part was not the fact that it was dark as Hades, but that it wasn't there before.

Percy swore that thing wasn't there before.

"HELP ME PLEASE!"

The son of Poseidon was starting to feel it.
