*Cassies pov*
I woke up from a text message from Cameron. "Goodmorning beautiful😊"
Butterflies fluttered in my stomach. It's crazy how he manages to still do this even when we're not with each other in person. The past few weeks with him have been absolutely PERFECT. Ive never felt this way about someone in my entire life. He makes me so happy. Unfortunately, we aren't even dating. Which makes me kind of upset because I really really like him. I was just confused why we weren't dating yet. I mean, I thought he knew I liked him? I've never said it personally to him before because I just assumed he knew. I thought he liked me with the way he acts around me. He looks happy, atleast I hope he is. I don't know, I'm just confused really. I heard a knock at my door breaking my thoughts. I sent back a quick "morning☺️" reply to cameron and looked up. My mom was standing at my door. "Can I come in?" she asked. I nodded and she walked over by my bed. Me and my mom were really close. It was almost as if she were a friend more than a mom. I always told her everything, but oddly I've never mentioned Cam to her yet. I guess I just forgot. She's been working a lot lately and hasn't been home really. "What's going on?" she asked plopping onto my bed. "Eh, nothing much" I told her. "Welllll, since 'nothing much' is going on, do you think we can go get some frozen yogurt? I haven't really even seen you much since we moved here because of work and I apologize. Plus, I think it's about time we continue our annual frozen yogurt stop" she said smiling. Every other Sunday morning we would go get frozen yogurt together. It was sort of our thing and I missed it. "Of course! I miss our frozen yogurt sunday stops" I yelled hopping out of my bed. "Well hurry up and get dressed, maybe we can make it in time for free toppings hour" she said walking out of my room leaving me to get dressed. I threw some shorts and a tank top on with my vans. I smiled because we're getting to hang out now she's not working so I can finally tell her about Cameron. Maybe she can even give me some advice on him; she always gives the best advice. I was just about to walk out of my room to leave when I got a text from Cameron.
*Cam☺️💕*- You wanna hangout??
Me- Uhh, when??
*Cam☺️💕* - now
Me- Oh, my mom isn't working so she wanted to take me out for some yogurt. I'm sorry😟
Cam☺️💕- No it's cool! Don't apologize, go spend some quality time with your mom. I know you've been missing her. Have fun, we can hangout later😌

I was about to text back but I heard my mom call me from downstairs. I locked my phone and walked to meet her in the car.

We got to the yogurt place just in time for free toppings. I got cookies and cream with Oreos, brownie bites, m&ms, and whipped cream. My mom looked at me like I was insane with her Vanilla yogurt filled not even half way up her cup and a sprinkle or chocolate. "Hey, I mean it's free right???" We both laughed and say down. Memories flashed in my head. We were sitting at the exact same table Cameron and I sat at the first time we ran into each other here. I was just about to tell my mom about Cameron when she asked me, "So how are you liking Cali? Any boys you're interested in?" she smiled raising her eyebrows repeatedly. I laughed because it looked funny. "Well yeah, there's this one guy" I said back. "What?! Really?! Oh man I need to stop working as much, I miss everything!" she nearly screamed. "Haha, no it's fine mom. He's actually been keeping me company everyday while you're gone."
"Keeping you company?" She narrowed her eyes at me. I knew what she was thinking.
"Not like that mom chill, he's not like that. He actually has respect for me."

"HA! That's what they all say my dear. What's his name?"

"His name is Cameron but no mom I'm serious! He's not like that. He's actually really sweet, funny, caring..." I kept going on and on about all the wonderful things he was. My mom started snapping to get me out of my day dream of Cam. "What? Oh sorry, I didn't realize I was still going" I said blushing just thinking about him.

"Wow Cass, you must really like this boy, I believe you. He sounds like a nice gentleman" she said taking another bite of her frozen yogurt. I nodded. "He is, he really is"

"Well?" she asked.

"Well what?" I asked back in confusion.

"Why aren't you and this boy Cameron dating? It sounds to me you kids really like each other."

"I don't know mom, it's confusing. I mean, I like him. I like him a lot. I told him a few weeks ago though about Drew and how I don't think I should fall for anyone right now. We both said we wanted to take things slow, even though neither of us has said our feelings for each other. I know they're there."
She looked at me like I was a fool. "What?" I said cocking my head back. She laughed. "Cassie, this boy likes you. He likes you a lot. He's just waiting on you. You told him you weren't ready for anything right now. The poor boy is probably just scared to ask you anything and be rejected because of what you said!!!" Wow. I never even thought about that. I'm sort of relieved though. I thought maybe he just didn't have that strong of feelings to move forward or not.

"So what do I do?" I asked.

"You tell him how you feel. You tell him you like him"

"But I thought I already made that clear."
"Did you tell him straight forward that you liked him?" she asked.
"No ma'am"

"Well then that's what you're going to do. You're going to tell him that you like him." My face got red just thinking about telling him.
"You're blushing!!" my mom pointed out. I laughed.

"Aw man, I've got to meet the kid that has my daughter head over heels for him. I never thought this could happen. He sounds perfect Cass" she said smiling. "It's going to be okay" she assured me because she knew how nervous I would be telling him.

"I'll let you meet him, AFTER I tell him. I want to figure all of this out first." I told her. She nodded. "That's fine, do what you got to do. Does he know where we live?" Oh shoot. I forgot to tell her how he slept over that night. I have to. I tensed up. My mom was cool when it came to talking and stuff but with boys staying over? That was a no no. She doesn't trust boys because of how Drew would always try to pull something when he stayed over with me. "Yes... he actually spent the night one night..."
"Cassie!!" She yelled.
"What?! He just got in a fight with his best friend and I didn't want to leave him like that!" She sighed. "It's fine mom, we didn't do anything. I told you, he respects me." I assured her. Assuming she would blow up I looked down. "It's okay" she said. "What?" I asked looking up shocked. "I said it's okay, I trust you. And hearing what you have to say about him I feel that I can trust him also because of the respect he had for you" she said. "Thank you thank you thank you thank you!" I said getting up and hugging her. I don't know why I was thanking her, I was just happy she didn't get upset over it. "Yeah yeah yeah, but NO more of him staying over until I meet him and approve, okay?" she said pointing her finger at me. I nodded. "I mean it Cassie" "I know mom! I promise!" I held out my pinky and she did the same pinky promising me. We got up, threw out trash away then headed to the car. I couldn't be more happier right now with how well she took that all.
