~.: "You Can't Escape Me" :.~
~.: Jorge Aguilar II & Elephants Love Ecstasy :.~

~.: Dick's POV :.~

I blocked Wally as he moved to follow my sister out into the hall, "Wally, what's going on?" I huffed irritatedly, crossing my arms over my chest as he defeatedly paused, running a stressed hand through his messy ginger hair while glancing worriedly over at Amelia who was miraculously still asleep, "Why is Aria acting like she drank like three cups of coffee? And what's with the pill bottle... Wally, are you hiding something from me?" I inquired suspiciously, cautiously raising an eyebrow at him as he groans softly while starting to pace back and forth. He's acting like he's trying to hide something and he's really bad at it. We've been friends for years, he can't hide a thing from me.
"I... I can't tell you, okay, Dick?" He grumbles finally as he reluctantly stops pacing to face me once more, rubbing the back of his neck guiltily, "Aria made me promise not to tell you what was going on.. Chelsea gave her something that would help her-"
I narrowed my eyes at him irritably, "What did she give Aria, Walls? Anti-sleeping pills?" My guess evidently is right on the mark because he automatically tightens his lips into a firm straight line, stubbornly fixing his emerald gaze on the wall beside the doorway that I'm still blocking, "Walls, first off- Chelsea giving Aria over the counter medication without a prescription is illegal. And second," I glance over my shoulder to make sure that my sister isn't hovering in the hallway, "How much of the anti sleeping meds did she take exactly? That bottle was empty. I get that whatever nightmares she and De are having might be really unsettling but Aria needs to be careful with the amount of those pills she takes," I murmured, fixing my disapproving gaze on Wally once again, "What if she overdoses? Walls,"
"Daddy?" A soft whimper from the hotel bed interrupts me before I can question him further and instantly Wally is at the beside, Amelia sitting up blearily as she rubs tiredly at her eyes, "Where's mommy?" She mumbles and I sigh softly, pinching the bridge of my nose in agitation. I can't believe Aria- I'll have to have a discussion with Chelsea when I see her next. If she's going to give my sister drugs whenever she feels like it, then that's going to be a huge problem.
"Mommy's in the hallway waiting for me and Uncle Dick with Aunt De," Wally explains in a soothing voice, gently pushing her hair out of her face as I glanced out the doorway briefly, wondering if Deanne was alright since she literally got dragged out of the room before she could even say a word, "We were about to go get breakfast, babe, did you want to get ready so you could come with us? You can pick if you want pancakes or waffles or anything, and we'll get you some orange juice or chocolate milk. Sound good, babygirl?" He chuckles, Eskimo kissing her tenderly as she lets out a cheerful giggle while nodding eagerly and I can't help but smile at the sight.
"I get to pick anything I want?" She squeals, her eyes wide and excited as she jumps up, bounces off the mattress, and tumbles into the floor clumsily, but before Wally or I could check to see if she was okay, she's already up on her feet again and darting to her backpack that's stuffed with her belongings, "Be right back!" She chirped, her auburn hair flying over her shoulder wildly as she races toward the bathroom and I chuckle softly in laughter, exchanging an amused glance with Wally.
"She's just like you," I murmured, running a hand through my bangs before turning to leave the room, "I'll let Aria and Deanne know that Amelia's coming with," I called over my shoulder to him as he nods in response, changing clothes as well. I sighed quietly as I closed the door behind me and, spotting Deanne and Aria down the hall, impatiently pacing in front of the hotel elevator, smirked in amusement before making my way toward them, waving slightly as De glanced up at me in relief.
"Sorry for not moving as fast you guys would've wanted," I chuckled softly, wrapping an arm affectionately around De's waist before pressing a kiss to her cheek tenderly while Aria rolls her eyes in annoyance. Clearly the meds are making her even more of a pain, I thought irritably but before I can say anything to her about Wally accidentally ratting her out, an excited squeal rings out in the hallway, followed by the loud thundering of small feet rushing towards us and I glance over my shoulder to see Amelia rushing across the carpet, Wally following with a slightly anxious expression on his face as Aria casts him a similar look of anxiety.
If they're gonna keep looking at each other like that, I amusedly thought with a smirk, pressing the elevator button that would take us to the first floor where the breakfast area was, Then maybe I just might not say anything at all. They're giving themselves away enough already. Deanne lovingly cuddles against my side as we followed Wally, Aria, and Amelia into the elevator, and I smiled softly at her, squeezing her hand gently in affection while Wally impatiently huffs, tapping one of his feet on the pale scarlet linoleum floor while leaning against one of the elevator walls. Amelia giggles and imitates him perfectly, even going as far as to throw in an adorable pouting face while Aria smiles affectionately at the both of them.
"The elevator isn't going to move any faster even if you pout, Amelia," De laughs in amusement, shaking her head slightly at the sight, "Though that's really adorable. I wonder how Brodie, Bells, and Ally are doing back at the cave..." she suddenly trails off and I pull her close in reassurance, kissing the top of her head gently.
"They're fine, I promise, babe," I murmured softly, slipping one of my hands into hers, "We can call Tim or Jason after breakfast to check on them if you'd like," Deanne's dark brown gaze shines eagerly and she nods in agreement to my suggestion as she snuggles into my side affectionately and I smirk softly at her.
"Now that you mention it," Aria murmured thoughtfully, pushing her hair out of her face as the elevator finally stops on the first floor, "I don't think anybody's called even once to update us on how things are doing at the cave. Is it just me and De that are having these weird nightmares?" Her eyebrows furrow in thought as she guides Amelia off the elevator while De and I followed after them, Wally bringing up the rear, "Do you think anyone else-"
She gets cut off as someone rudely barges past her, jostling her so hard that she almost stumbles but Wally catches her quickly before she can trip and I glare irritably at the person as they scurry into the elevator without a word.
"The nerve of some people," Deanne growls agitatedly but she doesn't have the chance to snap at the stranger when the elevator doors slide closed, shielding the person from our view and I gently lead her away from the elevator, "I can't believe how shitty some people act in the morning, like what the hell?" She irritably grumbles, her gaze focusing on Aria who's now shivering slightly, eyes clenched shut tightly as Amelia peers curiously up at her, gently tugging on her hand confusedly.
"Mommy?" Amelia inquires curiously, tilting her head to the side as she tries to stand on her tiptoes to get Aria to look down at her and I raise an eyebrow at her while Wally wraps his arms reassuringly around her trembling frame to let her know it's okay.
"Babe, it's okay, don't pay any attention to that person," Wally murmurs softly against her hair as he presses a gentle kiss to her forehead and she seems to snap out of whatever thoughts that must've been going through her mind because she nods as though to reassure herself before pulling him by the hand impatiently.
"It.. it just surprised me that's all," she sighs, pushing her hair out of her face with her free hand, "I'm fine, I promise. Now let's gooooo, I'm starving to death," she huffs irritably, pouting just like Amelia had and I rolled my eyes agitatedly.
