Chapter Six: Orcish Strange

"H—He did nothing wrong."
"Wh—What?"
"I said he did Nothing wrong."
"So I knocked out an innocent guy?"
I nod.
"Someone wake him!"
I look around. Mary does a spell. He looks around then starts crying. Okay he's adorable!! I giggle.
"Please, please kill meh!"
"What the fuck?"
I sigh. He whimpers. What is wrong with him?
"Someone hold me!"
Scar crawls into his lap and gives me a face.
"We need this child," is what it says. I smile and nod. Wait! He's letting besides me hold him? Wow! That's the first!
"Adopt!!"
"As owing I will join the group... if you'll have me..."
I nod.
"I have a horse.
"Oof! Us too!"
I nod. He puts Scar on his horse. I sigh.
"Nuzzle! Nuzzle!" He says nuzzling Scar. I giggle. I'm hungry.

Alice's POV

Oh my gosh we ran out of food! What are we gonna do?!?! I should tell them...
"We ran out of food..."
"Nughghfhfhfhhduxbicuebsifhensohebsisyhesuo," Drew says starting out normal then going into gibberish.
"What?"
"I don't know."

Mariah's POV

I can hunt...
"I can just hunt..."
Scar perks up. I'm guessing he wants to hunt too... no, he just wants entrails. I sigh. He warms up. And maybe Alex can come hunting with me to hang out if Scar is okay with it... Alex smiles. I smile back. 
"Can I come?"
I nod.
"But if we want food it might be better if you don't come," Morgana says, "because I've seen you try to hunt..."
I nod.
"I'll help you hunt."
I nod.
"Well?"
"Well, what?"
"Are you ready?"
I nod. We head out.  I look around. I see a deer. Morgana nods. We kill it.
"Mmm that smell like food," a deep, hungry voice says. We turn. I don't see anything.
"We no eat other's food."
"Me know..."
"W—Who's there?"
"We been heard."
Two orcs walk out one blue and one green.
"Are you spying on us?"
"We no spy... smelled food."
I nod.
"And your names?"
"Me Cato," the green one says.
"Me Cameron," the blue one says. I nod.
"I'm Mariah."
"And I'm Morgana."
They stare at the deer but don't do anything to take it.
"Are you all really that hungry?"
"We no eat three days..."
"O—Oh then maybe you guys should take this deer."
"We no can... too nice."
"But I'm giving it to you though."
"We follow then we even."
"You just want to follow us?"
"Then share food, we protect."
I nod.
"Good?"
I nod. They smile. We go back. Cato and Cameron seem awkward but we do need to get more food so we go back to hunting. We find more food. Another deer and a few rabbits, which allowed me to find out Morgana is really good with that knife. I giggle. She looks over.
"What?"
"You just started giggling."
"You're really good with a knife."
Then I sigh sadly.
"What's up?"
"To be honest I wish you let Alex come with us to hunt. I wanted to spend time with him because for some reason Scar doesn't want me and him to be together."
"I would have but the last time I took him hunting with me I didn't get anything because he wouldn't stop singing."
I giggle, "that sounds funny but I just wanted to be alone with him so Scar would stop trying to attack him every time I'm close to him."
"Scar seems more like a brother than anything," she says then asks, "is he?"
I nod.
"H—He is my brother. Someone turned him into Scar. I just don't understand why he won't let me and Alex date and he can't even talk so he can't tell me the reason."
"Bingo, he's your brother. He still wants to protect you even though he doesn't look like how he used to be."
"But, I don't understand, Alex is really sweet and really comforting."
"He doesn't know Alex... he also wants to talk to him... if I was in his shoes—paws—unable to talk... unable to show his affection other than through protecting you... it wouldn't be easy for him to explain why but I think he just wants to get to know Alex before he lets you date him. I'm the same way but, of course, I'm not stuck unable to talk."
I nod, "I guess I can understand that but I hate seeing Scar attack Alex just because he's close to me. Like last night I was sleeping on Alex and I woke up this morning to Scar attacking him!"
She nods.
"He probably didn't know what was going on and protective brother instincts got in the way of thoughts."
"But also Alex was comforting me while I was crying and letting me cry on him yet Scar still attacks him."
"Was Scar there last night?"
Don't think so actually...
"I don't think so but I told him though."
She nods. Scar walks in. I sigh. He looks up at me then whimpers.
"What's wrong?"
He claws out, "heard."
"You heard our conversation?"
He looks down. I look down.
"Um?"
"What?"
We see Alex. I immediately look away.
"What's going on?"
"N—nothing."
"Doesn't seem like nothing."
"It's nothing."
"Okay..."
I sigh. He looks around awkwardly. I look down.
"What?"
"N—Nothing."
Scar nuzzles me. I pet him. Alex smiles softly. I smile back. He pulls out a dog bone. I smile again. He hands it to Scar. Scar looks at him. I pet Scar again. Alex stands there confused. I sigh. Scar bites the bone. He smiles cutely. I giggle.
"Does that mean he liked it?" Alex asks. I nod. He smiles cutely. I smile back.
"I'm glad he liked it!"
I giggle. He smiles. I smile back. We need to cook the meat. We cook it. Alex is really good at cooking surprisingly.
"You're a really good cook!" I say to him.
"Cool!"
I giggle. He yawns. I yawn too. He falls asleep. I fall asleep on top of him.

The next morning

"Okay, so it's time to go now..."
I nod. We head on our way. I sigh. He looks over softly. I look  at him. He smiles softly. I smile back. We continue to go. I look around nothing here. I sigh. He looks over. I giggle and I look at him. He blushes and looks away. I look away too. We must be close it's getting colder. I shiver. Alex does too. Scar curls closer to warm me. I smile. He looks up. I pet him. He nuzzles me. I sigh. We make it into the kingdom. It's really cold here. I shiver more. Scar whimpers and tries to warm me. We notice a tavern. We go inside. Oh it's warm in here! I smile. Daniella (the monk girl according to Mary because she was the only one who has got her to talk) looks around, not shivering. I sigh. I wonder why? Maybe she's just shy... she looks up. I sigh.
"It's too cold for all of you, isn't it?" She asks. I nod. She then says, "this is where I came from, so, I can get you warmer clothes."
I nod. She leaves and comes back with warm clothes for everyone. We put them on. She smiles. I smile back.
"There is also a paladin here."
I nod. She smiles softly. I smile back.
"We won't be getting anywhere near the palace until we get him to listen to us..."

Alice's POV

What? Why would we need to go to the palace? That's weird... I see a soft smile from Topex (the weirdly hot wizard). Daniella looks over confused. I sigh. She looks over at me. I look over at her.
"I'll try to talk to Paladin Emmanuel, if you wish."
I nod. She nods as well. I sigh.
"Would anyone like to join?"
"Why can't you do it?" Topex asks.
"Well I was thinking it would be nice to not travel alone..."
I sigh.
"It's fine I mean it would also would be beneficial for you to have someone besides just me because he will have already met one of you."
I look around.
"Guess not..."
I sigh. Maybe I should go since I'm the leader.
"I'll go with you."
Mary timidly nods and says, "I guess I should in case something happens."
I nod.
"Let's go then."
We go. I walk beside them. I sigh.
