Chapter Four: Akin to delay

"Scar it's okay!" She says. He gives a face saying no I'm not a puppy! She giggles.
"I need to find her..."
I nod.
"I'll give you all a performance if you'll do it!"
We nod. We run out to follow him. Mariah picks up Scar. We get to a place. I look around. I see a guy.
"There's the shop keep.."
I nod.
"They took her further back!"
I nod. He sighs, "go quickly."
We go. She's gagged unconscious. We have to help her! Her enemy is lying bloodied. What happened in here?!?! She wakes up and starts protruding blades from her stomach. I back up. He sobs. W—What's going on? She smiles. He cuts her down. I sigh. He smiles back. I look down. They hug.
"Thanks."
I sigh.
"We owe you big..."
I nod.
"What can we do to repay you?"
I look at the others hoping they have an idea.
"Join the party."
"Sure!"
"Sure," Morgana says less enthusiastically. "Come to the Kid's home for tonight."
We nod. We sell all the jewels. Alex gets his new flute. Morgana grabs my arm. I look at her.
"Follow me alone."
"O—Okay," I follow her. We start running. Damn she's fast!
"W—Where are we going?"
She doesn't answer.
"Hello?"
I'm going to lose her!
"You're too fast!"
"Stop talking and start running."
"I'm trying! It's also hard to run in heels!"
"You're still talking! And take off your damn heels!"
"You want me to run barefooted? Hell no!"
My shoes become sexy flats.
"I—I just want to know where we're going and why we're running!"
"We must be quick."
I nod. She hurries. I hurry after her. We finally make it to wherever she wants. I look around. It's just a rock outcropping...
"W—Why are we here?"
"It's quiet..."
I nod. She sighs.
"So..."
"So what?"
"Why would you help us?"
"Because I like helping people."
"Mhm... and?"
"What?"
"People always have a catch."
"I don't."
"And that's what I don't get."
I look away.
"Why would you accept people like us?"
"I just like helping people."
"Even in a town of thieves?"
I nod. She sighs, "I just hope you understand... we don't care about the law."
I look down. Then there's a loud clap of thunder I scream and hug her because I'm scared and because Drew isn't here for me to hug. She looks at me more than a little confused.
"S—Sorry I'm scared of thunder. Usually I hug Drew when I'm scared but he's not here right now, so I had to hug you."
"Okay?"
I hear another loud clap of thunder. I hug her even more scared.
"Huff... let's go back to the others..."
I nod.
"Can I have my heels back though?"
She sighs but nods.
"Thanks!"
She gives me my heels back and we go back to the others. I hug Drew because I'm scared. He smiles softly. I continue to hug him.
"Here's a map in case you get lost trying to get there," Morgana says handing me a map. I nod. Alex and her disappear. I sigh.
"How'd they do that?" He asks. I shrug. He looks over at Mariah and Mary.
"I'm wondering the same thing," Mary says softly. I nod. We all turn to Mariah who just shakes her head. I sigh. She pets Scar.
"Should we go on that way?" Mary asks softly. She nods. Should we look around, though, see what we can get?

"It's up to you three," Drew says pointing at us. I look at the others. Mariah shrugs. Mary does too. I sigh.
"Hey, you're the leaders here," Mary says pointing to the three of us.
"I don't care."
She stands there awkwardly. I sigh.
"Okay, let's just go look because standing around and staring awkwardly isn't really fun..."
I nod. We look at the map. I sigh. There's a armory there, potion shop there. I look at Drew. He looks back. I smile at him. He smiles back. I look back at the map.
"So, where you wanna go?"
"Let's go to the potion shop."
"Okay."
We go to the potion shop. There is a lot of different things here. I look around. Drew looks at me. I giggle and look back at him. He smiles. I smile back. It's so weird! He always smiles at me! I feel like he's flirting like I am with him! Mary looks over at us. We look at her.
"Um?"
"What?"
"Nothing."
I look at Drew again. He smiles.
"Thanks have a nice day," a voice says. I smile back.
"Are you two done?" Mary asks softly. We don't answer we just continue looking at each other. She asks, "Okay then?"
I giggle.
"What is happening?"
We don't answer.
"Okay then?"
I giggle. She just walks out.
"What's wrong with her?" I ask Drew.
"I don't know but we should probably follow her."
I nod. We go follow her. I sneak my hand into Drew's as we do so. He looks away.
"What's wrong?" I ask him.
"I—it's nothing..."
"W—Well you looked away from me so I thought I did some thing wrong because you always look at me."
"It's nothing... let's just go catch up with her."
I look down. We catch up with her.
"Hey," she says.
"Hey, why did you leave?"
"I got tired of just standing there."
I nod. I look away.
"I got everyone stuff."
I nod. She sighs. Mariah catches up with us too while holding Scar. I sigh.
"Come on."
We follow her and make it to the children's home. Morgana stands up.
"Took you long enough."
I sigh.
"Come on."
We follow her. We go inside. This is barely suitable to be a children's home...I sigh. She looks around then down. I look around. It's literally pallets on the floor...I look at Drew to see his reaction. He doesn't say anything. I look away. I see a small kid with a cut across her leg. Poor thing... I look down. Mary walks over to her. She lifts a small charm from her neck a glow emerges from her hands, the wound disappears. I sigh. Mary turns. I look at her. She smiles softly. I smile back. She sighs. I look at Drew. He's asleep. I giggle. Mary sighs then sits down. I sit down too. Morgana sighs.
