Luke's POV

(A/N: Ha. References. To..Myself.. I should do Loser-Alert instead of Nerd-Alert next time. *Face palms* Okay since not everyone will understand the pretty thing, it's basically a dream sequence. I use it in Wonderland.)

Standing in a suit of orange I glanced at a group of people sitting in a wooden square holding seats for twelve. I glanced up at the tall man sitting in a robe of black.

"Has the jury reached a verdict?" He asked.

A woman stood up, a look of disgust on her face. "We have," She spoke. She walked down and over to me, grabbing the front of my shirt she pulled me close to him. "You are guilty of murder in the first, you would be killed for your crimes against humanity, you disgusting being!"

"Luke how could you!?" My mother cried behind me. "What happened to my little boy?"

"M-Mum I'm sorry." I said while some people began to drag me away. "It-It wasn't my fault! It wasn't me! I didn't do it I didn't do it!"

People began to pull me out of the room while my mother screamed. "Luke! Luke no! Luke! Luke!"

"Luke!" I opened my eyes and saw Calum standing above me. "Hell, c'mon we're getting off the bus."

"O-Oh.." I mumbled.

"C'mon." Calum grabbed my arm and pulled me off of the bus, I had no clue where we were. All I knew was that it was definitely nighttime.

"Cal, where are we?" I turned to my friend.

"I think Nevada but I'm not sure.." Calum said as he looked around. "C'mon, we need to keep walking. Find someplace to crash for the night."

"Calum I want to go home." I said, a pout crossing my face. "I would rather turn myself in at this point."

"No, Luke." Calum snapped, a hardened voice I had never heard before. "Let's go, now."

"Cal I'm hungry." I mumbled. Calum reached in his pocket and pulled out a small bag of chips before tossing them to me.

"There, now quit complaining." Calum said.

"Well you know I'm going to complain about being thirsty now." I smiled which got a small smile from Calum. He wrapped his arms around my shoulder.

"You're not bad Hemmings, not too shabby." He said.

"Well I would sure as hell hope so, I mean, Cal, we've been friends for how long? I would hope you approved of me." I rolled my eyes.

"I've always secretly hated you." Calum smirked.

"Then tell me why you took the fall when I accidentally made Mrs. Wrast slip and fall." I said. "You got two weeks detention for that."

"I think that's what I'll miss the most." Calum sighed, giving the star-filled sky a sad smile.

"What?"

"All those dumb, foolish pranks. Just being an idiot with you." Calum said. "I remember the first prank you did. It was so bad."

"I meant to make the chair squeak!" I said. "Not make it completely collapse when the teacher sat in it."

"It wasn't even the teacher, remember? It was a board member." Calum said. "He was so mad!"

"I swear the teacher was going to team up with my mum and kill me."

"I'm pretty sure when teachers found out we were in their class they tried everything to get us out of it." Calum smiled. "And they couldn't split us up either. Because I wouldn't do the work without you there and you would have a mental breakdown without me."

"Calum you're literally my only friend, I was all alone for like. A week." I said.

"And I didn't understand how to do anything without you there." Calum said and in the most girlish voice he could muster, continued. "We just complete each other."

"O-m-g." I said before we both burst into laughter.

"Oh our world is ending and all we can be is idiots." Calum smiled.

"Wait what?" I said, my smile fading. "You think we won't make it out of this mess, don't you?"

"Luke, I will make sure nothing happens to you." Calum said. "I promise. You'll be okay and I'll make sure of it."

I wanted to believe Calum, I really did. But I didn't know if I could. I was, too scared.

"So, what do we do?" I asked.

"Well, we gotta keep going but I'm sure after a couple years we will be able to settle down somewhere. Just live our lives the best way we know how." Calum smiled. "That or leave the country."

"Let's try and wait it out a little first." I smiled. "Where would we even go?"

"Well.." Calum said with a smile. "I've always wanted to go to Australia."

"Always a good place to start." I rolled my eyes.

"And hey, this isn't such a bad thing." Calum said. "We never have to go to school again, get a job, we can be traveling men. Just seeing all these wonderful sighed. And want to know the best part?"

"Tell me the best part."

"That we're together." Calum smiled. "There's no one I'd rather be with."

"We'll be okay Cal, we will be alright." I smiled.

"Yeah. We will." Calum smiled back. "C'mon let's head over there, I think that's a hotel and I could use a goo sleep."

"You definitely could." I nodded as we walked down the dirt road and over to the flickering sign.

I watched Calum approach the woman at the desk to order the room. She gave us an odd look before his social skills came into play and managed to slide in a situation where I would choke. I stood behind Calum as much as possible.

"Let's go Luke." Calum smile to me before we walked to our room.
