Have You Ever Been Free?
Fighting the closet
& the demons it contains
Wondering about freedom
Wracking your brain
Have you ever been free
& what does that mean?
How can you recognize
Something you've never seen?
Does freedom exist?
How can it?
Is it true?
How can it be so
If freedom isn't within you?
Our body is a temple
& time our sacrifice
We offer up everything
To pay the eternal price
Those things we slay
Are not just things we enjoy
On the alter we lay
That by which we're employed
Every minute we spare
Whether for work or for pleasure
Is one taken from us
So remember what you treasure
Develop a job
Out of things you love to do
So no minute goes to waste
As your skin turns to blue
Things should fall into place
No thought necessary
No cause for pondering
Nothing leaving you wary
When you question your future
You're a prisoner in your cell
You'll remain in your case
As long as you continue to dwell
You must learn to let go
Of things you cannot control
Stop running from the past
& using drugs to console
Mistakes have been made
But the future has not
So stop believing that
Your future is to rot
Make positive choices
Ona a constant basis
& pretty soon
Your life will be an oasis
