Namjoon's shoulders slumped as he unlocked his apartment door. He flicked on the lightswitch and noticed that Taehyung's coat was gone. The younger guy had been going on more and more evening walks. They were good for clearing the mind, and Namjoon had gone on many of them himself in the past weeks and months.

Things were returning to normal for him though or at least returning to a routine. He found himself more at ease, smiling quicker and laughing louder. Things like coffee with Yoongi and Sophie brought him much more happiness than they would have when Lucy had first left.

Namjoon couldn't help but hope that maybe Yoongi would bring his partner around a little more often. Her easygoing conversation and genuine interest had sparked a little bit of curiosity in his mind. He wondered who this stranger was.

He couldn't help it.

No matter how much he tried to shake off the thoughts that night, he couldn't help but hear the echo of her clear and sweet laugh. It had been surprising, how much happiness it had brought him. She was a stranger after all, and as far as Namjoon knew, she would remain that.

Monday morning, Namjoon woke up late. He knew he wouldn't be able to make it to his early morning meeting if he walked the blocks to work. He knew that taking the bus was his best option, and even that could be a bust.

Taehyung smiled at his older friend rushing around, splashing coffee over his fingers and shoving a piece of burnt toast into his mouth so that he could carry around his bag and coffee mug.

"Bye Joon! Don't forget your phone!" Taehyung shouted after Namjoon, who nodded in thanks and shoved his forgotten phone into his bag.

"Have a good day, Tae!" Namjoon's words were muffled by his half-eaten toast, but Taehyung nodded regardless.

Namjoon made it just in time to the bus stop. The bus was crowded and Namjoon had to stand near the back of the bus. It didn't bother him though. Now that he had made it this far, he knew things would go a little more smoothly for him.

The sluggish motion of the bus and the rocking of the people standing lulled Namjoon into a calm and relaxed state, and for a few moments, he got lost in the sights the crowded public transport had to offer. There were a few older women with shopping bags, a few mothers with babies, a few students here and there, just the run of the mill morning crowd. He watched as people got on and off on the stops between his and the one near his office building. The people were all different but familiar. It was the same types; suit and ties, hoodies and backpacks, shopping bags and winter coats.

Soon, he found himself slightly bored with the little sight-seeing game.

Until someone different caught his eyes.

A young woman came rushing on the bus, headlong, almost knocking into a man in a black suit and tie. In her hand was a to-go coffee cup and she toted around a satchel slung over her casual business attire. Her short brown hair was wavy and maybe, a little reminiscent of bedhead. When she turned her head, Namjoon realized why she had caught his attention.

He was almost sure that Yoongi's partner, Sophie had just gotten on.

Before he could be certain, the people towards the front had shifted and he could only see the back of her head.

The next stop was his, and he exited the bus through the back door, giving up his last chance to see if it had been Sophie.

It was a funny little world.

And at times, it could be rather amusing. Namjoon shook his head and smiled slightly as he walked into his building doors.
