A week after Yoongi had broached the idea of tutoring his friend Taehyung in English, Sophie had made up her mind. She decided she would try it out. Maybe the first few times they could meet with Yoongi there so that the two of them could grow comfortable together.
They were getting ready to leave the office one night when Sophie decided to bring it up.
"Hey Yoongi," Sophie began, wanting to make sure she had his attention. Yoongi looked up from his phone with a smile on his face and nodded. Sophie guessed he'd been texting Jinae, and she felt a sudden need to finish this conversation quickly so that Yoongi could get home to her. "Well, I was wondering if your friend still needed English tutoring. If he does, maybe the three of us could meet to discuss some things and get a feel for whether it would be a good fit or not?" Sophie tapped her fingers against her desk, waiting for Yoongi to respond.
"Yeah, I'll give him a call later and see. Maybe we could meet for dinner sometime this weekend, would you be cool with that?" Yoongi was calm, but he wore a pleased smile.
"Yeah, I'm free this weekend, just let me know if a certain day and time work for you guys." Yoongi nodded and began to finish packing up, Sophie followed suit. She had to admit that she was a little taken aback by how calm and relaxed Yoongi was. She'd been thinking over this situation for days, coming up with so many possible outcomes that she'd given herself headaches, and it had resolved in such a simple way.
As things usually did. She'd overthink and overanalyze, speculating and projecting and soon she'd been in a muddled mess of thoughts and she'd have a splitting headache.
Yoongi surprised her though as they walked out of the building's doors when he turned and said, "I'm glad you decided to tutor Taehyung. I think it will be good for everyone involved." Sophie observed that he wore a knowing smile and she couldn't help but notice how he lingered on the word everyone as if it was carrying special weight for him that she wasn't aware of.
She tried to dispel the analysis from her mind though, it would only give her a headache. She just smiled and nodded as Yoongi walked her to the bus stop, something he did whenever it was possible.
The first few times she'd protested it, but Yoongi had insisted, and one day, he'd grown a little frustrated with her protesting.
"You have to let someone look out for you Sophie! It's just you and your dad here, and I can't help but feel a little responsible for you. Now let me walk you the block to the bus stop or I'll tail you there. Either way, I'm making sure you get there."
If it had been any other man, Sophie would have felt a swell of indignation at his overprotectiveness, but it reminded her of something her father would say. With time, Yoongi had grown to feel like family, and she'd accepted the brotherly tendencies that came with it.

Yoongi picked up flowers for Jinae on his way to her apartment. He remembered the days when bouquets had been a sorry excuse for his shortcomings, but now they were just a nice gift he could shower his beloved girlfriend with. It was nice how things could change.
Jinae smiled when Yoongi came in with the flowers.
"What are those for, Yoongles?" She asked, coming away from the stovetop to give Yoongi a kiss. Yoongi smiled and hugged her, the flowers still in one of his hands.
"Just because." Jinae smiled and her eyes gleamed as she shook her head and took the flowers from Yoongi. She put them in a vase as Yoongi set his stuff down and moved over the kitchen. He helped Jinae finish the meal and soon the two of them were sitting together for dinner and watching a movie.
During a slow part, Jinae asked Yoongi to tell her about his day. He complied happily, and as he talked, he played with the end of her braid.
When he got to the last part of his day, he grinned.
"Sophie said she'd help Taehyung with his English."
"Oh, that's good. I think Taehyung will like her a lot. She's so good with her Korean that she won't have issues communicating with him either. Has Tae said yes?"
"I only mentioned it to him briefly once. I need to let him know she said she'd do it and that she'd like to meet with me and him to talk through some things."
"I think that's a good idea. She can make sure she's comfortable with him and he can too. You should talk to him soon though, before the school year progresses too much more."
"I'll call him tonight after the movie." Jinae nodded in approval, but her expression grew curious as Yoongi's grin widened and a knowing glint grew brighter in his eyes.
"What are you scheming, Min?"
"Nothing," he shook his head and tried to frown, but failed.
"I know that look. It's the one that says, "I have a master plan and it's so good it will knock your socks off." Well, out with it!" Jinae laughed and sat up straighter, and Yoongi sighed in jest.
"Fine, since you're so eager to hear it," Jinae rolled her eyes. "Well, as I said, I think Sophie and Taehyung will get along great. I think they could be great friends and Tae can improve his English," Jinae nodded, her thoughts jumping to Yoongi scheming towards a pairing of Taehyung and Sophie. "But there's someone else I think will get along with her even more." Jinae knit her eyebrows, thoroughly confused.
"Who?"
"Namjoon."
Jinae sighed and gave Yoongi a skeptical look.
"What?"
"Yoongi, do you really think that's a good idea?" Yoongi was taken aback for a moment.
"Well, yeah. They seemed to really click that time at the coffee shop, and I think it would be good for both of them to find someone."
"But is he ready? Is he over Lucy?" Yoongi was again surprised at Jinae's lack of enthusiasm for his grand plan.
"Why? Do you think he isn't'?"
Jinae hesitated before answering. "I think Namjoon has made a lot of progress. I think that he's just starting to get to a healthy place as a single person. I think anther heartbreak could send him back to a dark place." She paused again. "And, I love Sophie. She's so sweet and kind. I'm just not sure if she can handle the melancholy moods that Namjoon gets. I'd hate to see either of them hurt, and so would you."
Yoongi frowned and sat back further into the couch cushion, his hand no longer fiddling with Jinae's hair. He was deep in thought, considering what she'd said. He couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that she'd disagreed with him, but he just sighed.
"You have good points, but even as friends I think they could benefit one another." Yoongi looked over at Jinae, who smiled a little and nodded.
"I'm sure your right about that."
