Namjoon pulled his jacket on as he prepared to head out to the coffee shop where he would be meeting Sophie. He felt slightly nervous about meeting the young woman alone. They'd of course had quite a few interactions at this point, between the meetings Yoongi and Taehyung had arranged, but aside from the evening she'd brought the tea and honey over, this would be the only time he'd spent alone with her.

Not that it mattered, after all, she was just a friend. An acquaintance really.

He couldn't help but look forward to the meeting though, at least a little. He'd been apprehensive when she'd asked him out to coffee, but he'd assured himself that they were just friends.

It didn't have to be like Lucy all over again as long as he was clear with her that he wasn't interested in a relationship. Sophie was a smart person, he was certain he could level with her.

As he finished getting ready, his eyes fell on a book of poetry he'd picked up from a bookstore recently. He remembered Sophie mentioning how much she liked reading Korean poetry, and he grabbed it.

He thought maybe he could loan it to her.

She seemed to be the type of person who would care for and appreciate a loaned book well.

The sky was cloudy and there was a chill to the air that Namjoon couldn't help but love. He had always loved the cooler times of the year. He found it was so nice to wear warm layers and drink hot drinks when there was a little nip to the air.

He hoped Sophie wouldn't mind the chill in the air.

Sophie couldn't handle cool weather well.

It wasn't necessarily that she didn't like it, it was rather the opposite in fact. She loved the cooling air of autumn and the chill of winter. She loved the snow. She loved gusty winds.

Her body though could never seem to acclimate to the cooler temperatures. Even just slightly cool days made her feel so cold that she would wrap up in sweaters or blankets inside, and she often wore a coat out when everyone else only grabbed a light jacket. Her mother had always had achy joints in cold weather, in a small way Sophie found comfort in this small connection to her mother.

This day was one of those days. As soon as she woke up, she could feel that the weather had shifted. Her apartment was old and not well-ventilated, meaning her bare feet met cold hardwood as she stepped out of bed.

She didn't question her instincts when it came to dressing warmly. She grabbed her thick coat and left for work, only to be met by sideways looks from strangers who she knew were dressed much more sensibly than she was.

She was grateful for her coat though, she knew she'd be shivering without it.

Yoongi had of course teased her incessantly as he always had, saying something about how you'd think Sophie was in Antarctica rather than South Korea. She'd of course ignored him, wrapping the cardigan she was also wearing closer to her body.

When she left for the day and headed for the Java Shop to meet Namjoon, it was even chillier. Her ears felt cold and she wished she'd grabbed a hat. She hurried to the shop, excited to meet with Namjoon and eager to get somewhere warm.

She could tell Namjoon was caught off guard by her garb when she met him at a table.

She quickly took off her coat so that she would look a little less silly to him. She smiled, hoping she hadn't embarrassed herself too much.

"Hello, Namjoon," she said.

"Hey, Sophie. Are you cold?" Namjoon greeted her and asked the question in a rather rushed and slightly worried tone. Sophie felt a little swell of happiness.
